BKT set me back years! I will never touch that stuff again. And I hope anyone considering it does a patch test.

I don't think it should be used. There are other ways to straighten hair safely. One of the things about the beauty industry is that people want to reinvent the wheel just to generate sales. I know everyone's got to make money and pay their bills, but not every reinvented wheel is a good idea and if it's dangerous don't do it.

Daaaaaamn it was only a matter of time though, that stuff sounded risky as heck:nono:

When i fist started this board people were going HARD with 2 things cowashing morning noon and night....and BKT people were getting cussed out and everything for saying anything bad about it:look::nono:

No brainer people. They have formeldahyde free - safe treatments now that don't produce ANY fumes or contain any formeldahyde in any shape, form or fashion. Easy Kertain, Keratin Earth (Won Allure award 2011), and QOD Max Organiq all use Cysteine (protein) yield the same results with all the fumes. No gloves needed and you can use while pregnant.
