Ok ....I'm doing BootCamp..and Deep Condition Challenge...I deep condition 3 times a week, and moisturized and rebun every night.

but I think my hair maybe overly soft...No breakage and its not limp but , I can't do anything with it....It took me forever to do a bun this morning :wallbash:..My twist wouldn't stay ..they kept coming undone...I tried braids and had the same problem..Geesh!! Do I need more protien?? HELP!!!

Why do you DC three times a week? Was that part of the rules for the BootCamp? You might need some protein but if you decide to use one, you should try using a light protein first, not something like aphogee or emergencee.

Yes, IMO there is such a thing as OVER conditioning. A regimen is fine but you need to react if your hair needs something. Somedays my hair is perfectly moisturized, I won't add anything to it.

Fine hair can't take as much oils/conditioning also..

Listen to your hair!

Well Boot Camp is deep condition every wash but, I thought if I deep condition every co-wash too it would be even better!:ohwell:

Yeah, i second that. A light protein. There is a such thing as over moisturizing. Be careful because that can lead to breakage, too. I've heard of deep conditioning twice a week but this is my first time hearing of three.

I do think there is such a thing as too soft...you can overcondition your hair. Especially if you have hair that is fine to begin with. I don't have hair that is supre fine, however I have had times when my hair became too soft. For example, I know that I cannot go to sleep with conditioner on my hair, because when I rinse it out in the morning, my hair is limp and won't do anything. You might want to decrease the amount of DCing you are doing.

Ok ...I don't have thin hair....I have thick strands and very thick amount of hair..

Should I slow down on the co washes too....Everything was going so good...Should I moisturize less to.....I just really don't know what to do now..

Oh yeah what would be a good light protein??

A mild protein treatment should get you back to normal. Then you might want to decrease your conditioning.

Try aphogee 2 minute treatment, Aubreys GPB, Nexxus Keraphix etc.. things like that.

Inexpensive mild protein DC with excellent results:Queen Helene Cholesterol with Ginseng, Vitale Super Intensive Reconstructor (wheat and collagen protein) or Jherri Redding Natural Protein

yeah I was about to ask the same thing. Unless ur hair is that badly damgaed you should see really good results with just DCing once a week and then the rest of the week co washing. I used to co wash 3x a week...of those 3 times, 1x with Aphoghee 2 min reconstructor. so 2 regualr co wash days and then one protein co wash day...and then Dc every other week (im natural and barely use heat so it isnt necessary to do so everyweek).

Maybe soemthing like that will work out for you..otherwise all you are doing is creating buildup and wasting product. the hair can only absorb so much.:yep:

I wouldn't use any protien right now, and I wouldn't stop the co-washing, I would just cut back the DC'ing to once a week. If you hair is overmoisturized, stopping the moisturizing will naturally 'dry' it up some, whereas the protien will add something additional to your hair that it might not actually need.
