Is anyone experiencing the itchies sine they've started using the MTG. I'm on Days 2 of using it. I wash every 2 days which I think will be plenty for me in terms of topical application, because the last thing I want is build up anyway. But DANG the itchies are something fierce. Let's just hope this is a good sign.

Someone else posted about itching in another thread a few days ago. I cannot remember who it was....or was it you? I'm losing my mind. :perplexed

I posted this same thing in another thread and got no response. My head is itching like crazy!!! I don't know if it's because it's growing or if something is going wrong!!

Every time I scratch my head the stuff that’s in the bottle that has to be dissolved comes out in my fingernail. I know it's not dandruff! So far I’ve had this oil in my hair for 4 days. Also, the back of my neck is feeling bumpy. If I start breaking out, I’m discontinuing my use of this stuff!

I don't use it, but I'm thinking it could be an allergic reaction. It seems like it could contain ingredients that might be irritable to some people.

I agree although I've not had any adverse reactions. Not everything is compatible w/everyone. :(

Hahaha I just posted this in the Sulfur 8 and Glovers Mane, Revisited thread

I recently added Glover's to my Surge (which I have been religiously using twice daily since the beginning of this week)...along with Rosemary oil and my head has been itching like crazy! I mean I've used Surge twice daily off and on w/peppermint oil and always got the tingle. Now I get the tingle, and later in the day I get itchies. I woke up sratching this morning and the last time I Surged was last night. It's like a delayed occurence. It must be the daily use of Glover's, but I don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing! Opinions!?

ETA that I have been typically using the Glover's once a week, so these are ALL products I have used before with no itchies. No bumps, no burning, no irritation.

Your comment makes me think back to when I tried to use Surge. I remember waking up in the middle of the night just to scratch my scalp like crazy. I was in braids then and was spraying my hair 2 times a day. Needless to say I still have about 4 bottles left that I am not using. When I was using the surge I did get twice as much growth. I could definately tell it was working cause after just 2 wks I had the amount of hair I'd get within a month. Too bad it dried my hair out and irritated my scalp. I have been using Glovers as a pretreatment before shampooing my hair and I haven't had any bad reactions yet. I don't use the MTG.

I'm sorry u experienced the inchies. Are you making sure u shake the bottle each time before you use the MTG? This happened to me at first, but once I shook it up and made sure the contents were dissolved, the ichies disappeared. Also, I also do a mini scalp massage all over once i apply it. I hope this helps u. I got 2" of hair in less than 1 month using this product. I would hate to see u miss out on results, unless u are allegic. Your health comes first....Happy growing!

2 inches!!!! That's great! What's your normal monthly growth rate?

Last night I used the MTG oil but I didn't use it by itself because I didn't like the smell. I mixed it with Asha's Omega oil, rosemary oil, Akiva's Fiwi oil, and Carol's Daughter Tui Oil, but to no avail, I could still smell the MTG. I woke up this morning and the scent was gone, but I was scratching my head like crazy. I didn't have any buildup in my fingernails or any bumps on my scalp or neck, but my head was itchin for a while and then stopped. I used to take Biotin and had a similar reaction to this, but it eventually stopped also.

I will be looking out for this when I start MTG. My sample bottle arrived but I am waiting until I get braids.

My scalp has been itching for the last week and I can only blame wonder8 oil because I have been using surge for months without any reaction but as soon as I used both at the same time, my head started to itch. I haven't felt any sore areas etc. but I'll continue to monitor.

How much did you guys use?

I finger parted my hair and massaged this oil along my scalp and hairline. I also use it every other day. I've stopped that. ;) Tuesday marks the 1 week I've had this oil in my hair. I plan to get my hair done on Friday at the shop and I'll ask my stylist to oil my scalp with this and then put it into a ponytail. Do you think MTG will ruin my style by causing my hair to be too oily or smelly??!!??

OK, I used this as soon it it came, cause you know how we sistahs are. I think I'm gonna lose out on an inch if I miss one day of not using a product. Go figure. I used it again last night after I washed my hair and the itchies have gone. I think it might have something to do with not using the MTG on a fresh clean scalp. I don't have any sores or anything like that. But I noticed that after 3 days of using the MTG the thickness in the back was unbelieveable. I couldn't get my fingers through my hair. It's either one of 2 things, a growth spurt or an allergic reaction. So far today no reaction, no itchies. I actually prefer applying it to a damp clean scalp.

I have ordered my MTG but it wont be mailed out until the 28th :( . Anyhoo how often do you all apply the oil to your scalps?

yeah please how often? and do you guys apply it on freshly washed hair or not? i got mine today and im running home to go pour it all over my hair

I purchased the Original M-T-G. I mixed my with castor, glycerin, jojoba and pepermint oil. Since I feel its kind of "diluted", I apply it everyday.

I got some fierce itchin' when I started this MTG challenge also. But what I do now that works is mix my MTG in my leave-in ( Daily Doctor) with one part Surge Plus 14 and apply it to my scalp ONLY every night before I retire. It maskes the smell of the MTG when I do it this way and something does seem to be working.

Trying to start an album. Pics soon! http://public.fotki.com/Diane71/

Re: Itchies from MTG callin londondiva

Hey
just a quick question where did you get your MTG from? I havent seen in anywhere locally and even online its murder...would appreciate any pointers...thanks

I got mine from Arcaros . They're a bit cheaper with the MTG (I got a quart for 9.89) plus shipping. On the Shapley's site it was 16.95. There are other places, but this is where I got mine. :)

I ordered mine from millbrook-tack.com. I bought two bottles for $28.39 which included shipping. It's a lot cheaper than the shapley's site and due to the shipping costs, it is also less than arcaros ($32.53).
