I only wear a satin bonnet when I feel like it. Maybe twice a week...maybe.

I hate moisturizing and sealing, so I only do it like twice every 2 weeks...again, maybe.

Im never gonna reach my goals if I keep trimming these frizzy ends. But I cant help it they're weird and screw up my styles

Rarely do I rinse out all of my henna, I get tired of being in that durn shower forever. I rinse out enough so there's no bits left and the run out is barely there. So I just slap some DC on and bun until I get around to rinsing again.

That's probably why ... I second the threading ... it hurts like hell but the results are great. I use a depilatory without any issues.

Threading lasts longer than the depilatory, but I use the depilatory more so because it doesn't hurt. I use the depilatory about once a month, but I guess it would depend on how much hair you have krissyhair.

Cool thread. My confessions:

1) Dry detangling with oil? Yeah right. I heard of people detangling with coconut oil. No bueno here.
2) I don't LOC, LCO, OPP, ABC, BDD, blah blah blah. Oil does nothing for my hair. Leave in, cream or leave in, butter. Works better.
3) Detangling under running water? Negative. Denman brush? Breakage city.

We all do what works for is, right?

NaturallyATLPCH we gotta be at least 80% hair twins lol cause #1 and #3 are on point. Oils are best for me on my scalp. I don't even run my hand through my hair under running water. Not with these ultra tight coils.

Things have changed. I dont sleep in a scarf...at all.

I moisturize only if my style requires less frizz. Only thing my hair seems to like right now is Oyin Juices under bask Silk and Honey. So thats what im using

Cotton pillowcases all the way. Whatever

Just curious. I too feel like most products do what they say, i.e. moisture and protein but just want more info.

I think I was trying to say that there are really no HG products out there for me. I have tried a very few things that flat out didn't work. But for the most part, things on the market perform pretty comparably, enough for me to not feel any product loyalty, or go out in search of the best of the best. I just buy what looks nice when I need to replace something and make it work.

I don't have anything to confess because I want to reach my goal of bra strap length in three years and I'm not kidding so I stick to the basics, Patience, Condition, Moisturize, Seal, and wear headscarfs to bed. The only thing I don't do is protective styling. I have a small fro and I like to wear my hair out so if anything is holding me back from my goal would be the protective styling thing. I'll know in a year or two if that's the case.

Right now, I LOVE everything about African Pride's Shea Butter Miracle & Olive Miracle lines. They're inexpensive, smell good, and work great in my hair!

You know, you ain't lying. At this point, unless you need a specific ingredient, I'm finding that it's more about technique than product. The only reason I buy costlier products (not really expensive per se, but more than $5-10) is because I like supporting bw entrepreneurs. If a sista came out with something cheap

My confession: I HATE ordering hair products online. Like really HATE. I hate the whole act of waiting on special sales, ordering, tracking the shipment, scared I'mma run out of my favorite conditioners before ole boy (mailman) shows up so I'm pinching off my stash, stalking the mailman....etc. I've found that the bulk of my products can be found at discount stores like Marshall's or TJ Maxx...so yeah...I have tooooo much hair to use these tiny 8 or 12 ounce conditioners most of these online vendors be playing with. Momma needs at least 1 liter.

I have some confessions :

1. I dont finger detangle. Every week I start out finger detangling but give up after 10 mins. My seamless comb collection is growing.

2. Apparently I hate satin pillow cases so much, I wake to find them strewn about the bed and room. I have no memory of my antics so should record myself ripping off the cases and throwing them around for laughs

3. I ran out of moisture dc weeks ago. Have no desire to buy another. Been strictly using very mild reconstructors. Surprisingly, my hair is doing really well... its behaving the best it has in many years

As long as my hair is in its natural state, I can finger comb exclusively and get out all of the shed hair with just my water spray bottle.

I hate finger detangling. I hate combs too. My hair doesn't do well with either. Picky picky diva that she is ....

I try to use cheaper store brand conditioners and think they work until I go back to my staples with Hairveda....then I realize I'm lying to myself.

I'm addicted to trimming my hair.

Sometimes I miss my bone straight fragile relaxed hair. I just do!.....sue me.

I wish I could braid and weave my own hair. I've tried and failed. Sometimes I need a break from my hair and the frizz and unpredictability.

I would turn my kitchen into a salon just for me if I didn't have to feed my Fam. I want to move my table out and put in a styling station...steamer...and pibbs dryer.

Silk/satin pillowcases sound suffocating.

Finger detangling gives me anxiety. I hate the denman. I absolutely hate wide tooth combs.

I wish my hair liked coconut oil because I feel like I'm missing out on something really special. I've tried to use it several times & it always turns my strands into barbed wire.

I didn't get any heat damage the last time I straightened. Now I feel invincible & look forward to going back & forth between curly and straight. But I'll probably end up with heat damage and kick myself for not weaving it up instead.

I can't stand the same protective style for more than 2 weeks.

I dream of going blonde, but I'm terrified of a setback.

Sometimes I miss my silky-straight 450 degree flat-ironing days.

I love that I got my curls back but I'm currently missing my length and regretting my last bc. Sometimes I try to imagine how long my hair would be now without all the cuts/setbacks.

I feel like my growth has slowed a bit since I switched from Olive to Amla oil but feel urged to finish the bottle.

I've pretty much discovered all of my HG products. Sometimes I miss the thrill of the search.

I thought I was done with Eco-styler but there's really nothing else like it.

I've finally found a protective style that doesn't make me feel like a slave to my hair or just a slave, period. Ironically, it's just 2 french braids.

I'll probably suffer from hair anorexia until I'm tailbone length.

My hair is so fine and high porous 4c, its like trying to separate a spiders web. They cling and tangle right back the minute you think you got it. For this reason its also impossible to pull out shed hair.

This describes my detangling process to a T. Throw in a few strategically placed lint/product buildup balls and you have my nightmare.

I am prob 4b or 4c as well with terrible tangling issues. Even preHHJ when I was relaxed bone straight I had tangles. My porosity seems to be improving due to Joico MR and Infusium 23. I mostly finger detangle. I only use a comb if I have to.

Good detangling products are Infusium 23, Hairitage Hydration Soft Coconut Marshmallow leave in, any of the VO5 conditioners, Hello Hydration, Palmers strengthening leave in conditioner, Aphogee Curlific moisture rich leave in and also coconut oil. The As I Am line has a good detangler too.

I don't know about others but I find that some of the Shea Moisture rinse out conditioners really detangle the hair well and make the shed hairs come right out while rinsing.

2)Yucca & Baobab Volumizing conditioner
