Since I've moved back home for the summer, my roommate no longer does my hair. So, I've had to step up and do it myself. I was a slave to salons, and eventually a slave to my roommate lol I got the hang of flat ironing, it doesn't last too long, but it'll get me through an event. Problem is, my hair hates constant heat. Like, really. So, I wanna rollerset my hair. I'm really nervous though. Me and my boyfriend spend our weekends together because that's when we're both off, and he's GOOD for "showing me off" to EVERYBODY. So, I can never really go out with him too laid back lol I really don't know where to start. What kind of rollers? I'm so bad at doing the back of my hair. What if it doesn't turn out right? Ok, I'm having a bf for nothing, right?

Which curlers do you use when you want your hair straight with a bounce and which curlers/rollers do you use when you want spirals or tight curls?

you can go to healthytextures.com (macherieamour's blog) and on the left side click on tutorials there is a rollersetting tutorial. I HIGHLY recommend lacio lacio leave in for rollersetting. I was about to give up on rollersetting before I started using this leave in. It really helps to give you a good rollerset because it smoothes the hair down.

for bouncy hair i think you should use magnetic rollers. for spirals or tight curls you should use perm rods or maybe flexi rods.

let us know how it turns out!

Actually I have. There's an African Braiding Shop in Hyde Park called Sahans (for you Chicagoans). They do really neat stylish braids. It's just not in my budget right now, but I'm definitely planning to get some sooner than later. My hair needs a break.
