Re: "Kitchen" Issues..
OnePraying,
you could try basting the area that you do not want to relax with vaseline or any grease that is rich in petroleum/mineral oil, that will protect the area from the relaxer. If the length of that area is long enough secure it in a ponytail band/tie, to protect the area. This will keep penetration of the hair shaft in the areas you do not wish to relax to an absolute minimum.
When an area is over-processed try washing the area with the neutralising shampoo and leave it on your hair 10-15 mins longer than recommended, rinse and then do this again (3 x in total after initial neutralisation), this cancels out the relaxer and makes the hair stronger. Then deep condition preferably including a hot oil treatment to soften the hair.

I noticed the other day how long my nape has gotten and was quite impressed!
I wear low buns practically every day (twisting the hair around itself to form a bun usually). I still do relax my nape...the only thing I'm doing differently now is stretching my relaxer. Also, I don't use any heat. I think my hair has just gotten stronger...I'm just happy it's now growing even though I'm still relaxing it.
