Long Hair=Prettier

This isn't about what men or family members think, but what do you think personally? Do you feel that you look better as your hair gets longer?

I'd say that I do. I think maybe it's the whole "package" thing, and that as my hair gets healthier and longer it adds to the whole beauty package (lord, forst I had lw self esteem now I'm feeling pretty, I'm might be an ass at BSL!)

Like, I'll look at pics of myself from last year and I just feel that I look better now b/c my hair is healthier, fuller, and longer.

I think it depends, I look good with a short flipped out bob aswell, but I wouldn't mind having long hair either I like the way I look with it, it's something different.

I'll look at other people w/ cute short cuts and think they look pretty and sophisticated...but I just look...blah, I think it's cuz my head is so big

Um, I had my hair shaved in the back at one point. I LOVED my hair when I had a bob that was chin length. But whether or not I feel that I am more pretty/prettier (which ever one it is). I don't know. I like long hair better simply because of some of the styles that I favor more. I LOVE curls on longer hair (like APL and BSL). I've never been at that point. So, I don't know if my opinion would be more of how it looked on ME rather than how much I like the style period!!! Good question though. Now ya got me thinkin'!!!

it depends on the person. my face is a lil chubby so I feel tha I look better with long full hair. Some people who have real slim faces with a strong bone structure look better with short hair IMO.

I agree with you somewhat. Especially with the bolded. But, when I look at old pics, my low self esteem had alot to do with body image in general, so for me the complete package makes me feel better, prettier, and sexier.

Although people told me all the time when I was heavier with short hair that I was cute or pretty, I never felt it. Still don't feel it all the time now, but it seems to come more often when my hair is flowing all over the place. I think I feel more "feminine" now that I ever have before. I mean sliding on a slim pair of jeans, wearing my hair unwrapped and past my shoulders makes me WANT to put on a nice pair of heels or boots and fix myself up a bit. Before I'd just put on whatever fit and some sneakers and call it a day!

So I can say yes, I feel more feminine the longer my hair gets, which in turn makes me feel prettier or more womanly I can't WAIT for MBL! I know I'll have to wait, but I dream about it like a fanatsy. I'm hoping all these dang buns (which DON'T make me feel pretty ) pay off; because when I reach long hair goal #1, I'm wearing my hair down alot more often!

Well I definitely like long, flowing hair with BIG curls then!!! Like Macherieamour's rollerset. OMG, I LOVE IT!!!

Gotcha! Yeah I meant as far as personally, yourself, not other people. I don't want people thinking I'm judging other people's looks based on hair!

Oh, when I battled low self esteem, it had nothing to do w/ my hair, it was just an issue w/ myself. I'm glad you overcame yours too

I have known some people (in real life, no one here) that had nothing going for themselves as far as looks go (in my opinion) but their hair totally made up for that. She really wasn't a looker but she had the most beautiful APL hair that I have seen. Also another one of my friends had the nice body, pretty skin complexion, and long hair ( a little bit longer than APL). She isn't really what I call pretty in the face at all, but the guys LOVED her. Her hair made everything come in place. She had the body and face but I think the hair topped it from her.

I think deep down inside we all think we would look a tad bit better with longer hair or we wouldn't be here.

I agree with this too. When I wore a flip last year at shoulder length, i reallly liked the style and I have also had a chin length bob before and I swore I was going to keep my hair cut at that length, but when it started growing back out again, I realized that I felt better w/more hair b/c it could take away from facial features that I didn't like.

I think women that have really strong lines and bone structure can rock short styles better because there is not so much hair, which is not taking away from their striking facial features. (ex: Halle Berry - I love her with short styles, but I think the long hair puts too much emphasis on her hair and her striking facial features get lost behind all the hair)

I never thought I was attractive for the longest time, so I always made a concerted effort to be smart, funny and to have a good personality. When I finally realized that I was "attractive", I felt better about my overall "package"

I feel prettier with longer hair. It just makes me feel more feminine. And I also have more control over my hair when I style it and that make me feel more confident when I walk out the door. I look good with short hair but it takes more to make it look the way I want it to look and it takes less to mess it up. But I can get away with a messier look and still have it look good now that is longer.

I personally also feel like I look better/prettier with longer hair. Like other women have already stated, it makes me feel more feminine. I think that I would've had more confidence in myself when I had short hair if I would've known how to take care of it and style it better.

Having long hair, like another poster already stated, makes me want to dress a lil better and maybe put on a lil makeup or whatever. It's kind of like "wanting to complete the entire package". On many days I feel like the hair sets the standard that the rest of my body needs to uphold to LOL
