Yesterday, I was in the teacher's lounge talking to some of my colleagues. One teacher was really telling us how bad she cooked. She would forget that she had a pot on and would burn up her food etc.:perplexed Her cousin, which is a sub, volunteered the information that one day she (teacher) was perming her hair and went to sleep with it (the perm) in her hair.:nono: I was like have you lost your *&%# mind!!!! She said that she had all kinds of burns in her head. I'm shocked! She didn't go ther the derma either. I am suprised that she still has any hair left at all. I just though that I'd share. BTW: This same teacher told me that I shouldn't wait 8 - 10 weeks to relax my hair or all my hair would fall out. Ok.

Does she have narcolepsy? How in the world does someone fall asleep with a head full of relaxer? How? I can't even imagine. It's one thing to fall asleep in the beauty parlor I can kind of see that but doing your own hair?

she is a dits lol. not trying to be funny but i cant think of any other word to use.
dits:lachen:

Um...I don't even know where to start...
1) In a couple of months/years, she won't have any hair left...it will fall out, it may be taking awhile, but she obviously doesn't know how to take care of her hair
2) Her telling you that your hair will fall out from a 10 week stretch is just another sign that she doesn't know how to take care of her hair (not that you needed another sign...falling asleep with relaxer on!?!)
3) Black women who don't know how to take care of their hair make my heart hurt. It's really sad how much damaging misinformation is out there and it's so frustrating because no one is correcting them.
4) Does this woman have children? Because I pray she doesn't have any daughters, and if she does I hope she learns a lot quickly
5) I wouldn't want her teaching my kids, she sounds like an air head.

this made me

I learned to stop talking to people about hair. I just hear a lot of ignorance and I dont even bother correcting them.

I'm not even understanding this one either. :nono:

How in the HELL do you manage to fall asleep with relaxer in your head? :perplexed I can understand conditioner but not a relaxer. It's a wonder that she has anything more the peach fuzz after she rinsed it out. :spinning:How did she manage to become a teacher? She doesn't seem too bright.:wallbash:

BTW She teaches special ed. I have not figured oout how you fall asleep with a relaxer in your head but she said that she can only use a kiddie perm. She's 27 or 28 so you'd think she new better. She is having serious scalp issues.

How does hair fall out from stretching? I tell my co-workers that i'm 13 weeks post and their mouths just drop. I can't count how many relaxers they have had in that SAME time period.

I don't get it..Hair gets STRONGER when there is no chemicals in it. Takes extra care obviously but i believe my hair is getting stronger.

I'm guessing that they mean breakage (not falling out) at the point where the textures differ. Most women don't seem to know how to take that extra care

This isn't the first time I've heard of this unfortunately. When I volunteered at the hospital some lady had to come in and check her eye out because she fell asleep with perm in her hair (she was doing it herself) and some fell in her eye.:nono:
