Maybe. Do you want to try some blood work to see if you can replenish what is triggering the shedding in your hormone levels or maybe try adding a vitamin like evening primrose oil to see if it helps? I take Evening primrose oil and iodine a few days before and the first few days of my cycle and that offsets monthly shedding spikes and pelvic tenderness. You may be able to offset your shedding even if it is related to perimenopause.

Thanks! In the front and middle, I only cut 1/4-1/2 inch during trims. So I am on track to retain 4-4.5 inches in those areas by the end of the year. I might even retain 1-2 inches in the back/sides but I have been trimming most of my growth there off to let the bulk catch up.
It is very moisturized and juicy!

The ends are good. I had 60-70 SSK and splits that I cut out this last trim. I know Wash N Go attempts and shrunken styles allowed the SSKs. I also know not checking my ends as often allowed the splits to sneak in there. When I pressed at the end of September I was heavy-handed with sabino and my hair remained full from roots to ends, A week after I pressed, I greased my scalp with castor oil that migrated to the ends. I also applied some Olaplex 6 and Morrocan oil to smooth it out and, even with all that product applied to my 3-week-old press, my ends still look full, not stringy(I took a picture of my ends today that I will post at the end of the year reveal). I am happy about my hair's fullness. That is indicative that my gaps and thin spots are mostly cut off now. I am not all the way to my baseline yet, but I am very close to my hair being back to normal. My ends aren't super precise right now but they are even and filling in.

Just completed a micro trim earlier this week. My hair is coming along well. I’m keeping my hair moisturized and sealed with Shea butter, regardless of how I wear my hair (wigs, bun, etc. ). I hope to get better at blow drying my hair, so that I can see my true progress. The last photo from my last post, made it look as if I had cut all of my progress.

I will answer. I have hit a few of them
. It was not efficient detangling. So. I revised that by backing up and slowly removing that specific knot or tangle, then raking the tool through smoothly, rather than pulling a detangling tool through a tangled section. Since I wore braids back-to-back for many years, I thought I was supposed to lose a handful of hair with my braids takedowns. My hair was pretty full, so it didn't look bad after I styled it. However, I was losing about 2-3x* more hair than necessary because of improper detangling. Once I started detangling properly, I hit BSL within 6 months. I immediately cut it off due to bad ends then it it right back to thick and healthy BSL within the next 6 months followed by MBL shortly after that.
