Here are my results of using the Maxiglide MP. I like the way my hair came out. I will be keeping my Maxiglide...I really, really like it!

Thanks, ladies. I think I got the hang of it now. It's just a matter of taking your time, using small sections and not pressing down on the hair...came out straighter than I usually get it with my other flat iron.

N&W,
Your hair came out really nice! Instead of "Nice and Wavy", it's "Nice and Shiny!!!"

I have been reading the reading the reviews about the new Maxiglide MP and it seems really tempting, but guess what? I have the original and don't even use it that much. I think the reason I don't get stellar results is b/c I don't really take my time.

That looks so pretty!! Looks very soft and shiny. And if you look at it at another angle, it looks like you got a layered bob cut. That's really cute! Did you get a trim? Sure looks like it to me, or maybe you just bumped the ends a lil bit with the flat iron? Either way it goes, me likey how that came out!!:yep:

Looks great! So pretty! I want a Maxiglide I dont think my hair is getting as straight as it could with the Chi.

I'm glad you had good results. Those other posts where makin' me nervous about using mine.

I know, made me a little nervous too...but, I just put my fears to the side and tried it and it worked. I did get great advice from Pokahontas and her directions were on point.

Thanks, BB. I used Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Olive Moisturizing Hair Serum on my hair before I flatironed. I love that stuff.

At first I was going a little too fast and I realized quickly that I wasn't getting the results that I should have, that's when I just took a deep breath and took my time...and that's what worked.

Thanks girl. No, no trim. The last time I got a trim was in late November, but I did bump my hair on the ends just a little.

Thanks, OAHQ! The maxiglide is good. I like the size of it too. I think that if you can find the right temp, and then don't press down on your hair with it, but go slow...it will work. I can see how some people can feel nervous about the teeth pulling the hair out, but if you do it lightly and just go slow down the length of the hair, you won't pull any hair out....I didn't.

Is there a new Maxiglide? What is the MP. I am hoping that they make one a little smaller but would still have the steam action. I know they make a smaller one but it does not have the steam factor.

Yes there is. The MP is the newsest Maxiglide that is smaller (not as wide) as the original one. It has the steam action too. It came with a smaller one (about a 1/2 inch wide) for curls and flips.

Nice job. I did mine today too. But, mine came out poofy. Like It feels like my 4A type hair is relaxed..but blow dryed really crazy.. When I shake my head it moves around lol

I wanted straight flat hair like yours. Do you think there is a certain technique to getting it like yours?

Hey Trust. What did you use in your hair? What temp did you have it on and at what speed did you go down on the length of your hair?

This is what I did. After I washed and conditioned, I rollerset and airdried. It took all afternoon to dry, but it came out soft. I then took some hair serum and put on each section I was to flat iron and then I started at the ends first lightly, then I went to the roots and slowly went down the length of my hair. I did that until my entire head was done. It took a little longer than what I'm used to doing, but it was well worth it.

My hair is full, but straight. It was straighter when i first did it, then as time went on, it got fuller, not puffy.

I made sure that I used some serum on the length of my hair after I flatironed too. I smoothed it on really well, making sure to get my ends. I now have it wrapped, but before I wrapped it, I made sure to put some Mizani H2O Nighttime treatment on those ends.

I hope that helps and I hope you do try again at some point and get it straight the way you would like.

Blessings.
