Is there a differnce between Hellmann's Mayonnaise or the Hair Mayonnaise that you purchase from a beauty supply store? What are the benefits of using it? And what does beer do for your hair? Yeah I know I have alot of questions but I have to ask. Thanks...

The main difference is that you can not eat the hair mayonnaise that you buy from a bss. The one from a bss also has more moisturizer's in it.

Well the Hellmann's Mayonnaise is really good on a steak and cheese sub!

Seriously, the Hair Mayonnaise is formulated to be used on hair and has other added nutrients to aid in moisturizing hair.

True, you never know.

You can use hellmann's on your hair if you want to. I used to do it years ago, but since I discovered Hair mayonnaise, I use it instead. The regular mayonnaise used to leave my hair hard.

I tried my first beer rinse last week, but I don't think it did anything. I'm not sure. I'd be willing to try again.

anyway, I have Duke's mayonnaise in my hair right now, and it's really oily.

The ingredients are:

Soybean oil, eggs, water, distilled and cider vinegar, salt, oleoresin paprika, natural flavors, calcium disodium EDTA added to protect flavor.

It's really runny. I have a lot of hair, so I had to use like a third of a jar LOL. I have Brendita's Body Works' Cordless Heat Wrap on over a plastic shower cap.

The last time I used mayo on my hair was in high school. I remember it took forever to get out, but I don't care this time. My hair has been wayyyyy too overprocessed. I used to get relaxers on top of relaxed hair all of the time. Plus, I dyed my hair whenever I wanted to instead of waiting for the suggested breaks.

I love how shiny and greasy this mayo is making my hair LOL. I hope it rinses out more easily than the one I used in HS did, though.

I want to do this every week! I miss my virgin hair. I was just looking through some pictures from my childhood, and I was like OMIGOODNESS how could I have hated my hair back then? Oh well. That's what a messed up media-driven society does to kids...and adults....

I'm rambling :)

Try using a mayo that has no alcohol as some have this in the ingredients. There also light mayos. Even the own store brand work just fine instead of bying the expensive branded ones. You can also mix in with a little olive oil or a little honey and use as a prepoo as well as detangle with it before washing the hair. It always works like a charm on my hair!

Yes there is! Mayo is WAY better for your hair to condition. The beauty supply stuff has to many ingredients and also things that should not even be in your hair.

Today I used Mayo mixed with a 1/2 tsp of amla oil, coconut oil, honey and JBCO as a prepoo since the fall weather has set in. For some odd reason my hair gets super dry in the fall and winter months. Washed with my shikikai bar and DC'd with some ORS mixed with amla and honey....Detangled ....oh baby! Soft, shiny and no breakage! Me likey!

Mayo is so stinky I just can't imagine. I think I tried this before as well as using eggs but nah. I might try the light store brand mayo mixed with the oils as that sounds like a yummy treat for my hair.

I just discovered mayo w/olive oil, and let me tell you: its the best deep conditioner for me ever. My hair is soft, detangled, and moisturized. I found my staple. I use eggs for my protein treatment also. I never thought I would but I do. hth
