I'm probably not the best one to answer since my hair can take some protein. My hair is a protein whore:lachen:. This would not be too much protein for me. I use Mega Tek as a leave-in conditioner after EVERY wash. I also rotate various protein conditioners. I don't henna too often but when I do I don't let up off the protein. I have no shedding or breakage whatsoever. My hair type is 4w. Its thick, coarse, wiry, and woolly.

It shouldn't be a problem if you put alot of conditioning products into the henna. Also it would be good to follow up with a deep moisturizing treatments until you feel that your hair will suffer no ill effects.
For me the megatek is moisturizing, but my hair tends to like protein. That's right! I did a henna treatment and followed right after with my megatek no problems, HTH!

I don't use mega tek the same week that I henna, and I wait until after a couple of DCs before I use mega tek again. I love my henna, though. I just don't use it quite as often since I also use mega tek.

I don't use MT on the length of my hair. I only use on my scalp and Henna every 4-6 weeks so I haven't experienced any problems with this system.

I use Henna about once every three months - just enough to give my hair that strengthening shot it needs, without overloading my roots where the MT gets on the hair. It took me a lil while to figure out the best schedule. As long as you space it nicely, and keep your hair well moisturized, you should be fine. :yep:
