I was sitting in my nice office chair not too long ago relaxing and noticed a stray hair that had fallen from my head..I picked it up to examine it as I usually do and OMG!!!! This strand of hair was busting apart...it was split in middle, but in the middle of the strand and there were little split ends running the length of it. I got freaked out cause I started to wonder: how many other hairs are there like this in my head...woe is me

Its ok Cheer Bear, thats happen to me before.
Maybe its just a few hairs that are damaged...
Dont worry......

Maybe you should do some dusting and wear your hair up for alittle bit, thats what I did.

oh my , i hope its not many!!..i grew out my relaxer and didnt put heat in my hair for years, and one day examined my ends and they were split on top of split and i didnt get why...but i trimmed and they werent ever like that again...hopefully its just a few hairs and not all over, when you get a chance examine it better.

Good idea! When I get out of the pool tomorrow I'll do a little dusting after it dries...but I would have to blowdry to get it straight enough to do an even trim

Hey Ladies! Don't panic, it may not be all hairs. With that said, perhaps the link below about split ends can help. It certainly enlightened me (I knew dry heat can cause split ends but never would've guessed hot water could be a culprit too!). I hope you too find sth useful from this site:

Split Ends?

I feel your pain!

I'm started to find more and more hairs like that in the back on my right side of my hair. I have been paying extra attention to this area lately... spraying distilled water on it...leaving the conditioner on that area a little longer...and oiling it well. My trim is the second week of march. Not too far away.

I wouldn't dare do a trim myself...I cut off wayyy too much...and I end up cutting it unevenly. More power to you ladies that can do them!
