I've been trying to grow out my damage-induced "bangs" for about 8 months now. Thanks to you all, it has grown ALOT! from pretty much nothing, to close to my lips. Given this background you can imagine my grief right now cuz i accidentally got RED NAIL POLISH in it!!! :crybaby:

I have an exam in less than 2 hrs, but instead of studying, ive been looking for a way to get this thing out of my hair :cry4:. The sections with the polish in it are HARD, red, and clumped together. and they are at least 1 inch away from the ends so i cant cut it out without cutting the other perfectly healthy side out too:wallbash:

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELPPPP!!!! i have rinsed the affected sections under the full force of running water--nothing. I clarified with ion poo---no help. i even went as far as putting nail polish remover on it---still nothing :cry3:

I would think nail polish remover is your only bet - on a cotton ball, and just dab/rub/dab/rub/dab/rub until you get most of it out... :(

I would suggest soaking the area in acetone, but I don't know the damage that might do to your hair so I don't know. I agree with the poster above me... I guess:ohwell:

yea nail polish remover and then a litle water and then moisturize it because i would guess that the remover would dry the hair

oh dear...i dont even know how to start explaining this to anybody...how does a living breathing human being get nail polish in their hair????

thanks for the advice ladies. id go try the nail polish remover again

Did you try heavily oiling the hair and seeing if the nail polish would slide out? I've never had this happen, but I was trying to think of something that would maybe help and not damge the hair.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE ADVICE, ladies.

The suggestion to use oils and condition well seems to have worked best so far. It didnt remove the nail polish, but it did break it up--so i no longer have red clumps of dreads on one side of my hair :lachen:

I'm glad i can laugh about this now. I still have some red streaks in there, but i figure id rock it and do co-washes till it wears out

Thanks again, I appreciate y'all
