Just wondering....whats so great about the K-cutter compared to toehr combs? I think I am gonna get one...I have heard good reviews about it and I just wanna know the deal.

Also, what brushes do you use that don't rip out your hair but stil do the job?

I need to stock up on some hair hardware. When I gt back to the states I am gonna redo my hair software collection too (shampoos, oils, vitamins, etc).
 
The K-cutter "cuts" through the new growth, making it easier to detangle. :yep: From my experience, I get no breakage from using it. That's all I can say about it. It's an EXCELLENT comb!!! ;)
 
The long thin teeth allow you to pick thru knots. It would even be great for someone taking out braids.
 
I've heard good things about this comb and would like to purchase it especially now that i'm transitioning.

The K cutter is nice to have. I can pick one up for you, Den. I know the shipping to the UK is going to be WAY more than the actual comb will be.
 
I do, got my K-cutter at the ebonyline website, best $2 I ever spent :up: And I love my denman brush, was worth every penny :yep:
 
I havent tried the k-cutter tho I plan to. I did get the lil afro pic with the fist. Now my fro is official!!!

Try one of the denman brushe, those are a godsend tho I still use a boar bristle brush to smooth my edges when I'm puliing the front back for my puff.
 
I use the K-cutter and the denman brush. As you can see, the K-cutter is 'my baby's daddy.':lol:

How are you supposed to use this contraption of a comb?

I tried in on wet hair with conditioner, and it didn't detangle as well as my Jilbere shower comb. Am I supposed to be using this on damp (freshly washed) hair with moisturizer?
 
I want a K-Cutter comb myself :yep:, but I don't want to order online :( its too bad that I came way too late when NubianQueen was selling the the K-Cutter's :ohwell:. I have a denman D83 large paddle brush which I :love: and I aslo have the D4.
 
they sell them at the BSS near my house, luckily so i didnt have to go online! i love my k-cutter, its fabulosity cannot be measured! :D
 
Would you suggest someone with relaxed hair and a considerable amount of new growth use this comb? Would I experience breakage? As others have asked, should this combe be used on wet or dry hair or does it not matter? Thanks! :)

If I didnt discover the K cutter 11-12 years ago, I dont think I would still be natural today *shudders at the thought* This is the MAIN thing I use to detangle. always on wet hair. and yes there is some kind of technique to using it (impossible to put into words though) I found that out when I ASSUMED my daughter would know how to use it.....and the K cutter came up missing teeth *gasp* and she was ripping through her hair. The technique just came to me .....I didnt know i would have to demonstrate lol

also now i have to be really carefull using it....cause if i do something just a little off it can wrap around my hair or my hair wrap around it....and, well, that would be a disaster. I have seen how it could happpen and have come close to it happening at times.

I always use it on wet , well moisturized hair. always!!!
 
I just hopped on the K-Cutter train Tuesday and LOVE it.. I get absolutely no breakage from it and it GLIDES through my hair without a hassle!

Aren't you transitioning Pooh? Do you use the K-cutter just on your newgrowth do you use it from root to tip?
 
When I washed on Thursday, I used my Jilbere shower comb in the shower with conditioner to do a preliminary detangle, then I used the "K" on semi damp hair after I put oil, shea butter and detangling lotion in it.

There were very few hairs in that comb, so I guess I figured out how to use it! I think the key is working in small section while grasping the root, and pulling the comb through gently.

I went ahead and bought the K-cutter at my local beauty supply store. And I must say it is the best! The teeth are the perfect distance from each other and the perfect diameter for detangling new-growth. And the tips of the teeth of the comb are nice and smooth. Plastic and bone combs scratch my scalp; this comb does not.

I used my Jilbrere shower comb in the shower and I used the K-cutter on my towel dryed hair. It's great! I have about 1 - 3 inches worth of new growth and this was the first time I was able to comb through it without smothering my newgrowth with creams.

I've also used it on the length of my hair (both wet and dry) as well with no problem.

Last night I used the K-cutter to detangle my hair in preparation for my touch-up which is scheduled for today. I just sprayed my newgrowth with my Paul Mitchell Mositure Mist and took my time with the K-cutter. I have a lot of 4a spirals at the top of my head and the K-cutter help seperate those grouped spirals quite nicely.

It was $2 well spent!

p.s. the K-Cutter didn't cause me any breakage.
 
I just tried to order it (on ebonyonline) and they told me I had to have a $10 minimum. Are they trying to promote people being product junkies? :confused:
 
I am a new transitioner, so I will be picking up a K-Cutter within the next month or so. For right now, my hair is doing fine with my Simply Basic Wet Comb from Wal-mart. :)
