OMG: Everyone must read this thread: I found a LHCF member out of the blue!

Okay, so I'm sitting in here browsing the forum and guess what? A LCHF member walks up to me and says, "Wow, I really love your braids! They are so pretty."

This is the first time someone has ever said something like that to me, so I'm looking like, "Really?"

I say thank you. So then she asks how long have I had them in and I say, "Since September 5." She then sees what site I'm on and says, "Your on long hair care forum." I say, "Yes." And I am looking like, "How does she know about LCHF." So we are so happy and everything cause when does this usually happen? Not everyday. So we exchanged usernames and everything.

Has this ever happened to someone else?

i was starting a new job and me and my new co-worker were talking about weaves ans things of that nature and she actually bought up the site

i had to give her a ^5 i was like " i know about them im on there ever other day . i had just showed another new co-worker some fotki albums ( note this other new co-worker was not a lhcf memeber) the first thing that came out of her mouth

* thats a damn wave * i had to laugh and show her the girls progress

Wow, it has never happened to me. I would love to find somebody from here to talk to about hair stuff.

This happened exactly a week ago. I was in the crackhouse.....I mean....beauty supply store .I was looking for eyelashes for my aunt's party, and a lady comes up to me and she's like "Excuse me, are you a model?" And I was like "yeah....?" I thought it was just going to be a regular person reminding me of how tall I am, but she was looking at me really hard and I was starting to get scared , until she said "It's me, ........... from LHCF! I recognised you from those modelling pictures you always put up!" We were up in there screaming and hugging and laughing, it was priceless. The Korean lady was looking at us like we were crazy or something. I loved it, it was so cool to meet another LHCF lady! And hi there lady, you know yourself!

Funny thing is I am in that building just about every Friday for staff meetings and I'm one of the many computer administrators on campus so I said I'll be nosey today and walk past the public computers and when I did I found me a LHCF buddy! YAY!!!

It was a pleasure meeting you! We'll have to get your fotki up and going soon.

I got one too, I already casualy knew this lady though.

My friends and I were eating out at this resturant and the lady (member) keep looking and finally ask me to call her when I got back to the office. I didn't know what to think. When I did she said she thought it was me on LHCF, but wasn't sure. I was so shocked. I won't say who it, I'll leave that to her. But we talked about texlaxing and other stuff. And I must say that her hair is BEAUTIFUL in person!

These are cute meetings. I just had to laugh that she said it was a weave. I guess to many people are use to us having weave. lol

It's happened to me before. Well, kind of. I was at my stylist's shop and in comes this girl with a familiar face. I got so excited and I guess I let my excitement show b/c my stylist asked me what was wrong with me. I said, "I think I know that girl. She looks kind of familiar". Then my stylist offered to call her over but I said, "No" not wanting to scare this complete stranger. Since I remembered her username and I felt pretty sure that her username also included her actual name, I asked my stylist what her name was and sure enough it was her. I didn't introduce myself to her but I did pm her when I got home. I often see other women out and about and I have a strong feeling that they are sometimes members here but I'd never ask them. I even think one of my co-workers is a member here. She told me that she is not getting a relaxer until the summer. She didn't use the term "stretch" but maybe that's b/c she didn't think I'd know what it is.

Well, I went to meet a member from a non-hair website in my area. Come to find out, she was also a member of the LHCF. We both laughed and were surprised. It was cool though.

That has never happened to me however, there are many women I see on the street that I want to ask or I just know are members but I'm afraid to ask! I think we need some sort of sign or accessory- what's up with that?

im not sure yet because the move is still kind of in the air but almost a sure thing. my boyfriend is trying to go to grad school at Brooklyn College. We are going up there early next year to check out some of the area and whatever. ill keep you posted.

This happened to me when I saw Kinikakes at Sistas in Downtown Brooklyn as I was getting my first Dominican Blow out about 3 weeks ago. I kept staring at her and instantly recognized the hat she used to wear in her signature. I wanted to ask "Are you Kinikakes" but was afraid I would get kicked out of the salon for harassing clients Anyway I emailed her later and she said that it was indeed her. Too bad I was afraid to say anything.
