My hair is silky to-DAY!

I went to Sally's with my birthday money yesterday. I decided that I need more moisturzing products. I think the breakage and lack of elasticity I was getting, despite the fact that my hair felt okay, was due to a little protein overload. I was using my GPB pretty often, plus I was using BreakFree every day, and it was probably a bit to much. Soooo...

At Sally's I got Ion Moisturizing Treatment, Profectiv Long N Healthy moisturizer, and Profectiv Damage Free (spray leave-in). Last night I put a generous amount of H6O in my hair before going to bed--like a pre-treatment sort of. This morning I shampooed with my Extra Gentle shampoo, lathering twice. Then I slathered on the Ion treatment as if it could get me into heaven, and left it on while I bathed and brushed my teeth, etc. I rinsed it out (hair felt nice, moisturized). I followed up with a little Aussie Moist just cuz I like the slip/detangling properties. I squeezed the extra water out but I minimized my towel drying.

I used the Damage Free leave-in and some Relax serum while my hair was wet, and let it dry loose for a while.

Once it was damp, I put in some BreakFree and used a little SplitMender on the ends.

I used a little more Damage Free since it's supposed to help with shine

My hair is still slightly damp at the root, but lawd have mercy, my hair is so silky and soft I can barely FEEL it when I run my hand down it

When I was combing my leave-ins through my hair there were hardly any strands in the comb.

This is it, y'all. I'm through. It doesn't get any better than this. I'll just use my GPB every 3 weeks for protein. For my conditioner washes I'll keep using the Aussie Moist + Beyond the Zone Acid Shock.

I'll try out the Long N Healthy on my dry hair before going to bed tonight and see how that turns out.

But seriously, I'm pleased as peas

I love the title of this post. Its such an awesome feeling when you find great products and your hair is responding.

i have a question what is the beyond the zone acid shock? what does it do? where do you buy these products?
thanks

I do not know where Sally's is. I do not know where Sally's is. I do not know where Sally's is. I do not know...

Just my chant to keep my PJism in check.

Way to go, BC. Do the toss f'me, won't ya?

Now I will just work hard at trying to forget what it is you said did this for you. Can't start becoming what I've managed not to be for months because of one darn thread.

I don't know where Sally's is. I don't know...

Nonie!

I'm glad you found something that works for you, Cardinal!

*Taking down bun, tossing hair a couple times for nonie, rushing to put it back up, making sure all the ends are tucked back in*

caralexis, Acid shock is a conditioner booster. It has a low pH so it helps close down the cuticle (helps with slip, shine, sort of like an ACV rinse is supposed to do). You mix it half and half with your regular conditioner. The second time I used it I discovered the key to really good results with it is to really MIX it with the conditioner, so it gets spread evenly throughout (The first time I just sort of squirted it in my hand with my other con and mushed it around a bit). I got it at Sally's, where I got all of my other products (except GPB and Aussie Moist).

Oh I forgot to mention I also got a new brush. I really like my finishing brush but my old Conair one has plastic bristles; Since one of my November goals is to be gentler with my hair, I decided to go ahead and get a boar bristle brush. I got this one:

I really like it. It's nice and soft. I don't buy new brushes very often at all, and I hope this one lasts and serves me well

Glad to see you enjoyed your birthday funds

. Please let me know the deal on the Long 'N' Healthy moisturizer once you use it.

I'm chanting with you Nonie, but now I really want the Acid Shock!

BC, How much did you pay for the brush?? I've been using the same 'ole brush for years, and it has nylon bristles...

I guess I should buy a good one!!!

Hey y'all

I had to force myself off the board for a while so I could get some homework done. Anyway...

I do really like the Acid Shock now that I know how to use it properly. BUT it smells to high heaven. It has a syrupy sweet, cough medicine smell

It doesn't really linger though, and it can be hidden by the smell of your conditioner. And when your hair is dry you can't smell it at all.

Lindy my brush was $6.99. I'm not sure if that's high or low for a brush. Didn't seem too bad to me, especially since I plan on having it a long time. It feels nice on your head too

That's a great price, BC; I'm gonna pick one up for myself the next time I go to Sally's.

Thanks for the info.!!

I would really like to try the acid shock because I never quite understood how to do a acv rinse and i dont want to attempt it and mess up my hair. do you think this can be used with braids? just on the length maybe? God bless you all.
