I'm relaxed but my teenaged son has decided to grow his hair into a short Afro. Here's the problem...his hair is thick, hard and dry (it looks a mess) I tried twisting it with Long Aid Curl Activator so he could have a cute curly/coiled look....nope, that didn't work. I've used activator, EVOO and water, conditioner...HELP!!!!!! Although he combs it, within an hour or so, it looks as if he hadn't combed it in days. :nono:

Try aloe vera juice mixed with glycerin. That works my my 4b natural hair and my dd's hair as well.

I use elasta qp mango butter on my DS hair and Annabelle's perfect blends hair cream.

Those are the only two things through so much trial and error I have found to keep his hair moisturized and his curls poppin.

I was going to suggest "Baggying" in the evenings a couple times a week with some sort of Spritz and a Crème.

Get a little Greenhouse Effect goin'.
