Hey ladies, I hope you are all hanging in there! I saw some of you list the challenge in your siggy's - cooooooolness! Well it left me wondering how all my girls are doing - I'm a caring challenge starter. As per the rules, here's week #2's check-in!

So what styles did you rock this week? Did you make any changes to your reggie that added an awesome twist? How did you jazz up your styles with accessories? Did you get any new hair candy pieces this week you should share with the group? It's show and tell time!

Ok me first... So you all saw that I got my hair relaxed. I wore her down for a few days and she thought she was cute swinging in the wind and being sassy. I was good though, put her up in a few up do's and dressed her up with flowers and hair bling --- check out my fotki, I have all kinds of jewel clips. Here's a style I'm rocking today and similar to what I've been doing this week:

I added to my fotki this week a collection of almost all my hair candy -- the stuff that I can find, there's also some elasitc head bands and scarf head bands that I have yet to photograph, lol. I have some in my bags that I carry for a quick change if needed at the gym or after dance class, and also in the bathroom in my cabinet. I'll get to gathering those up later this week to photograph. But you can check em out in my fotki! Here's a sneak peek:

Changes to my reggie:
  • Herbal Essences!! Conditioners and Leave-in make my hair feel simply amazing.
  • Chi Silk Infusion - got a small sample at the bss and this stuff is amazing so I will be adding this to my regimen. I like to flat iron with it.
  • Caruso rollers!!!!!!!!!!!

Your accesories are great! What kinds of places do you get them? Are they expensive?

LOL Cheekqueen, I only just now as of recently learned how to do my own hair, lol. I havent worked on anyone else's just yet, lol.

MizAvalon - expensive, HECK NO!!! Lol, I am as big a bargain/cheepy queen as Tyra Banks, lol. I always buy my accessories when they're on sale. I never really ever pay more than $3 for any single one. Most have cost me $1 to maybe $5 at the BSS (I go to different ones), or at Rite Aid (Scuncii I think it's called, Goody, Conair, whatever catches my eye).

Headbands for the most part I've gotten for a dollar at the BSS. Flower clips I make myself with barrettes or double prong clips and silk flowers I order online.

I have too much crap, lol. :lachen:

Wow! I guess because they're so sparkly they look more expensive. I really like them.:yep:

I need to start shopping at more places than Claires and The Icing.

I'm a little depressed because I still can't braid. Anyhoo, my phony pony is all right for now. I was doing some big twists and putting the twists in a bun,but the twists won't stay in. I still have a lot to learn.:ohwell:

Awww DD, I'm sorry that you're having braid drama still... To date.... Me and cornrowing.... Um not friends, lol. My twist come undone too which is why I now only do braid outs and not twist outs because my twist outs always look mildly retarded, lol.

Dont be depressed! You'll get it! Maybe you should get one of those mannequin heads to practice on?

i'm doing well.

i've had this newest set of twists in
for one week (tomorrow) so far.

and i've been trying to do different
"styles" with them to wear to work.

i did a conditioner/grapeseed oil treatment last night

Awesome runrunrunner! I want to get some twists. I saw a girl I know rockin some really hot ones... Like a honey brown/dark brown colored combo, and it was gorgeous... May be my late spring look.... The hair used though seems so rough, I'm afraid of it doing harm to my own hair. :perplexed But I guess with proper conditioning and care it would be alright. I need to do a little research on this, lol.

I didn't really protective style at all last week. I wore a twist out all week. The week before I kept my hair in a head wrap.

RunRunRunner. do you do your own twists? Can you tell me what products you use to keep them in for a long time?

 Word of Caution!!! I bought a lot of those long metal clips w/rhinestones last year and they caused a lot of breakage in my hair.....I hate to see all that progress go to waste !!!! But I learned the hard way not to use metal anything in my hair.....
