I am four months pregnant and I have decided not to relax my 4b hair during my pregnancy.

I braided my own hair but got tired in the middle of it so I decided to braid the front half of my head (from the ears forward) and put a hair fall in the back:look:

I have done this successfully in the past so I thought I would share the idea with the rest of the board.

Here is a photo from when I used this technique a while back:

Some hair stylists use this technique but they sew tracks in the back. The benefits of this specific technique are:

  • The look of microbraids in half the time
  • A fuller look
  • Easier to refresh braids since they are only in the front
  • Easy access to the back of your hair for washing, conditioning, and moisturizing.
This is probably nuthin new, but I thought I would share anyway :)

ETA: I use Robin's technique to maintain the health of my hair while in braids
