Well I have using no heat: so far not that much breakage but it hards to update my fotki monthly when I really can't straighten my hair: guess I got to pull it: i really like this challenge cuz it forces me to not do all the things that would cause damage: I still have my 1x pass to use direct heat: but I will hold that off until July

I love your lyrics. Anyways, I am still hanging strong. No heat, protective styling, dc once a week, and moisturizing daily. I am so close to my 2nd goal, I can just scream. As you know, I can't post a picture until July 4th due to the HYH challenge:grin:

No heat: Fail, I use heat one-two times a month.
DC: Twice a week
Protective Style: six days a week
Progress pic postines: One, however (I probably win for the most pix taken...LOL...can't help it, it the photographer in me!) I KNOW, I KNOW I'm working on a hair album!!! REALLY I am!
Gonna reach hair goals: Fail, length wise. Reached thicker ends wise...last week, I cut 1 1/2 inches to get rid of some of the bottom layers.

Stretch: Haven't texlaxed since Feb 15, 2007.

I'm doing well in S2. Sticking to all elements of the challenge plus my extra for Platinum level. Pics, and album update at the end of each session. I can't believe we are in the second month of S2 already!! Congrats to all of us.:yay:

I am deep conditioning 1 per week,
pre-pooing, with ORS :rosebud: Love it,

protective styling under half wigs,

heat only to deep condition

telaxed at week 16, no photos yet :perplexed

I'm struggling to get my ends to not break. I'm 11 weeks post relaxer and would hate to relax now. I'm shooting for not relaxing until August 4th. Any suggestions?

Baby your ends , and co washing 2 times a week helps me, I find that the futher along I am, the more water needs to hit my hair, and scalp, it also keeps the new growth, nice and soft, tangle free, I also, keep my hair cornrowed under a half wig, or tucked away nicely in a bun, I always, moisturize and seal with oil, hth:)

Well, I was doing okay until I saw the back of my head. My ends are breaking off and I think it is because of a couple of things.

1)my hair grows slower in the back
2) I don't do protective styles as much as I should and they are rubbing against my clothes
3) My dryer concentrates heat on the back middle sections.

For these reasons, I don't think I will reach my length goal but I am conditioning like my life depended on it. I have deep conditioned 4 times in the past 1 1/2 weeks. I can't find my flat iron so I haven't used direct heat. I still can't resize my photos so I have them on my digital camera but I can't post them to my fotki.

I've been in kinky twists for the past 2 months and I'm taking them down this weekend. I'll start DC'ing 1x/wk and baggying at least 3x/wk. I'll probably get it rebraided by the end of June or if I'm brave enough, rock a wig!

I've been faithfully taking vitamins, drinking water and the added bonus of exercising! I don't know the length of my hair since I had it straightened back in February (back reach lower neck). I won't be using heat again until August (1 yr nappiversary) so I'll check then.

BUNNING BABY! I haven't used heat on my hair since that February fiasco at the DOM salon! :yay: I need some new phony ponies in my life though. I have had these for awhile. I am loving my hair! I have learned through this process what it likes and doesn't like so we are getting along great. :)

Well I'm bored quite frankly! Its summer and I'm bunning everyday I feel a little on the insane side and for some reason I'm shedding a lot I don't know what this is about but I've been using aveda dr intensive for 2 weeks in a row and I did a nexxus emergency treatment I co wash nearly everyday, I moisturize, I baggy I'm doing eveything I need to do I just hate the sheedding, I took pics also but I can't upload for some reason I think my daughter was messing with the camera when stretched I'm bra strap length and arm pit at the front, my goal is to blow dry and flat iron straight to see results at the end of the bootcamp.

Congrats to WillyGWifey, Tsmith, Wheezy807, Golden Breeze, Tryingto, Lmjenk67, and Crlsweetie912!!
Great job ladies!!

Get to doing those consequences.....Pixel Lady. Heat once or twice a month is a definite violation!! :ohwell:

PrincessDi - Im natural but from what I have read on this board - if you are experiencing shedding/breakage its better to relax than to continue to stretch because in the end you will see more damage. I think a 3-month stretch is admirable and maybe you could work up to a longer stretch. Some searches on stretching strategies as well.

GymFreak - Sorry to hear you are experiencing breakage :( It seems like you have isolated your problem. Maybe you can look into getting an new dryer?

GuessWho - Try to do some creative buns. I know some ladies have amazing protective styles that are all type of fancy. From your pics it seems that you have the length to be pretty creative. Think about next summer when you can whip your hair around at your hair goal length. Hopefully your shedding stops....it may be seasonal or try something with garlic in it.

Keep it up ladies!!!! Hang in there....

Yeah, I am thinking about doing that. Can't risk anymore setbacks.

brownsugarflyygirl, you just thought you were going to sneak those siggy pics in all slick like, huh. Your hair looks great, all shiney and healthy. Congrats bootcamp leader, ma'am.

S1 was much better than S2. I just picked back up with my 1 a week washing and DC. I have been using heat more than i should but i have been on some modeling jobs and i have to have flat straight hair for them. I am considering tree braids to protect my hair and still look nice. other than that i am on it. I gave up on the vitamins because they were making me look like leather face..

Thanks GoldenBreeze  I appreciate the compliments.
I have been a little MIA so I decided it was time to update my siggy.

Congrats bmoreflyygirl for staying on track....

Mysweetevie....do whatcha gotta do...I aint mad ;)

Prettypuff...shame shame shame :naughty: ....I am glad that you ladies are back on track. Dont forget to do your consequences. Your model pics look nice though...so Im sure its worth whatever your consequence is.
