Hey Ladies!

I am a long time (4+ years) lurker and finally had the courage to make an account. And now I finally have the courage to actually start a thread lol. I wanted to know if there were specific scrunchies that are better for relaxed hair that won't cause alot of breakage. I know I shouldn't use any without metal in them.

As of right now i use the kind with the cloth on them

And sometimes I use the regular kinds without metal

I saw these no slip grip scrunchies that are made of some kind of stretchy silicone/ rubbery material
http://www.amazon.com/Scunci-No-sli..._1_18?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1330195672&sr=1-18

Has anyone tried these before? Does anyone have any suggestions? I kind of wanna find some silk scrunchies but I'm not sure if the price would be worth it.

Thanks so much for the help!

Hello!

I've tried the no-slip ones and the rubber part still tugs at my hair.

I just take a pair if clean tights and cut them for my headbands and ponytail holders. Cheap and no metal or hard plastic to worry about.

Thanks so much! I have a bunch of clean tights with rips in them so I can't wear them anymore. I'll be sure to give that a try.

Welcome OP!

I have used all but the rubbery ones. They seem to work as long as I don't put them on too tight.

Thanks :) I think I'm gonna grab a pack of the rubbery ones next time i go to the store. I'll be sure to not tie them too tight though!

I only use satin/silky textured scrunchies. They are always well oiled because of the oils I use in my hair. This has worked for me for years. I am a heavy ponytail/bun wearer and I haven't noticed any breakage in that area

I buy them from Target, they're the only ones I use any more and I've been using them for over a year. I have 4b+ texlaxed hair with some over relaxed ends and I gave never had any snagging problems.

lovebug10- no slip grip scrunchies that are made of some kind of stretchy silicone, I should've specified, I got ahead of myself. But Target is the only store I've found that carries them.

i use satin scrunchies made by Goody. everything else pulls my hair. i like to use the plastic elastic bands (they look like rubberbands) as well if i need more of a slicker hold.
