When I used oil in my hair, safflower oil was my very favorite - I liked it better than olive or coconut. It worked very well in my hair without building up. I would keep the portion you aren't using refrigerated though, as it can become rancid quickly.
Safflower oil is a nice, inexpensive oil. I don't use it straight up anymore as I prefer blended oils, but I always make sure that it is one of the ingredients in my oil. I remember it keeping it keeping my hair super moisturized when I used it.
