good challenge. Im kinda scared to join because Ive been completely slacking on my goals. Ive been on a diet almost all this year but the past 2 months Ive been stuck in the high 160's low 170's. I started the year at 240. Ive been needing something to motivate my a**

so

GOAL 1: Weigh 155 by inauguration by exercising at least every other day

GOAL 2: Keep my hands outta my hair and make sure I wear my bonnet to bed

GOAL 3: Decide upon a new hobby and actually stick to it for 09

GOAL 4: Start to get our debt under control

GOAL 5: No more Drinking, Toking, or Smoking

GOAL 6: Eat clean and healthy, no more than 1500 calories

GOAL 7: Put my skeptical faith back in God 100% and have faith and hope ;)

Hey, thanx OP for the challenge

OK, I think I wanna be down with this challenge too. I just have 8 pounds to lose.

1. Lose 8 pounds
2. cleanse and moisturize my face twice daily
3. DC 2 times/wk instead of 1/wk
4. Start back with my strength training 3 times/wk.

I'm glad this challenge came up. I relapsed on my lifestyle changes/diet this week. This is my plan:

I will exercise 4 times a week between 30-60 minutes a day.

I will lose 10 pounds by 1/20.

Thanks for the motivation

Hey, I'm in! My goal is a mini makeover: clear skin ( 70% less blemishes), 2 1/2 in of new growth, grow thicker and longer lashes (notably) and a really nice brow threading (been saving my ca$h).

This is a great idea

Lose 10-20 lbs
Get hair in tip top condition
Continue to study so that I can pass the LSAT
Getting on the treadmill daily!!!
Get skin in order
Get rid of the negativity in my life
Stay encouraged!!!

This all I think of right now - will probably be editing!!

This is a fantastic challenge.

1. Lose 10 pounds.
2. Purchase the killer Botkier flat boots I want
3. Excercise at least 4 days a week
4. Focus more on getting more money for everything.

1. I will master the rollerset habit and begin wearing my hair out at least once a week.

2. I will maintain my recent loss of all my baby weight (finally!)

3. I will continue my running habit and be up to 30 minutes straight by January 20 (not sure how this will coordinate with #1).

4. I will start doing hack squats again to firm up my butt.

Okay, this might be off the wall. But im going to work on getting my skin clear (face).

Washing my face before I go to bed.

Do face mask at least 2 a week

Drink more water

Take my flaxseed Oil daily

Since my flight has been booked, and my lodging confirmed I am in %110.

1) Get my hair straightened (I BC'd on Feb 1, 2008 and didn't intend to length check until my one year nappturalversary, but Barack and the family are worth it!!!). I want to be fierce and camera ready when they span the sea of folks at Inauguration.

2) Make sure I find a fly coat b/c we Florida girls don't get to wear "real" winter coats too often, and I am truly lacking in that area.

3) Keep the shoe game fierce, making additions where ever I see fit.

4) ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE!!!

5) Finally, make sure my skin and nails are on point!!!!

10 weeks, can we do it? YES WE CAN!!!!! :lachen:
(Corny I know, but I couldn't help it)

Thats not Corny, that the infamous quote from our First Black President. Your rock that quote for the next 4 years. I know I will!!!!

Okay so I've been thinking. Starting next week, I've decided to:

1. Stop being so hair/skin lazy! Follow through on all my routines.
2. Force myself to stay on my exercise schedule (at least 4 times a week).
3. Volunteer at least once every two weeks.
4. Keep my priorities first, school being #1 and boys being last on that list :look:.
5. Read The Bible and pray for at least 10 minutes a day.
6. Take 5 minutes of silence everyday.
7. Make a schedule as usual. . .but actually follow it!!

I am going to have to withdraw from this challenge. My main goal was to lose some weight but I found out i'm preggers so dieting is not in the forecast.

Good Luck ladies!!

Congrats Andy!
Girl, you don't have to lose weight on this challenge....maybe you could change your goal to something baby-related?

Good Luck, Curli D

CONGRATS ON THE BABY *Andy* ;)

anyhow, Ive been doing farely well with my goals although the whole toking thing I shouldnt of put in this challenge because it was unrelated to other goals in the sense that I was putting that one down because hubby and me moved & Im just preparing myself for my lack of herb. I see absolutely nothing wrong with toking as I believe it was put here for our consumption by our creator...not meaning to go of in a tangent but I feel I should give a reason as to why I am altering my goals...

So Im taking toking out!

On another note, I stopped drinking all alcohol. I never was much of a drinker. perhaps 3 or 4 times a year. Recently, though Ive been drinking a little more and I realize how icky alcohol is and so Im over drinking completely. Maybe like a margarita or sangria here or there. But no more drinking to get drunk...if that makes sense.

The weight loss is not really going anywhere at the moment. Ive been exercising like mad but I dont think Im drinking enough water. So ill work on that and I should have a better update on that front.

Oh the whole faith thing I jumped back in fully, I asked God for some herb (I know...I know, but its the truth) and I got some ;) We just moved to our new Ft. Im gonna take my dh to church with me on Sunday and we'll see where that goes

Ive kept my hair in twists since the move so thus I have kept myself from messing with it so much, I also have been religiously protecting my hair from un-needed damage and wearing my bonnet to bed. I dislike the word bonnet kind of, but thats what its called so what do you do.

Lastly, my diet has been about a b+ I havent been eating as raw as my thoughts on the subject led me to believe I would but I refuse to eat fast food, although honestly I did eat 3 nuggets from Wendys when my hubby made me go with him before we worked out at the gym. So I ate a little fast food but that was it ;) besides I hate spending money on food. So I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Eat better, Eat less, Cost less, Weigh less ;)

On an entirely different note, since this challenge has to do with the inaguaration Ive been thinking about the Obama presidency. While I did vote for him and all I didnt just vote for him because of his race. I voted for someone I saw as very smart and could fix some of our problems in this country, perhaps the world and bring change to the tired old ways of Washington. I just hope that he actually does that. Just getting elected isnt change he actually has to be great. I know thats a lot of pressure on someone but thats what he wanted. I hope that he and we achieve all that was spoke about throughout the campaign.
