The Trance

Do any of you PJ's understand what I mean by The Trance?
It's like when you're face to face with a hair product, and then a few minutes later you're out of the store. But somehow that hair product is with you and you're not sure how it happened, because you've snapped out of it. You're in a different state of mind than when you were face to face with the product.

Anyway...

I found that Shea Moisture leave-in that some of you like at a local BSS. (it's in Arlingtonn at Collins and Arkansas Dallas Metro ladies) I'll let you know how I like it.

I also picked up some B&B Oil It Up. It's a nice thick oil--thick like the Keracare oils. It's great for the ends. I've gotten too lazy and frugal to keep buying pure oils that will only go rancid with time if I don't use them quickly. I PJ too much to focus on using one thing consistently. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I totally understand. I can go into a bss to get ONE thing, then I end up going up and down the aisles like 50-11 times.

Then I'll pick something up then put it back. Then keep coming to it like, yes, no, yes, no, maybe...

Remember those Circuit City commercials where the guy walks into the store with his wife and he starts keening, his eyes glaze over, and he takes off running down the aisles of the store?

My SO always laughs at me because he says that's me in cosmetics stores, beauty supplies and drugstores. He follows me around in them to monitor my spending. LOL!

/images/graemlins/lick.gif Yep! You'd be surprised how time flies by when your staring at, opening up to smell and reading the back of a product that you've never tried before. I'd pick up read, put it back, walk away and then come back to it again. I also imagine how my hair would look and feel after it's use. If I don't buy it the thought haunts me until my next visit! How 'bout trying the product out in car before you even leave the parking lot. /images/graemlins/rofl.gif The last time I did that was with Himani Gold turmeric cream with 24k gold and the Alma oil that I got from the Indian store.

Not only do I know "The Trance", so does my SO /images/graemlins/nono.gif. Sometimes he comes back to get me, so I might be redirected and re-focus on my planned purchases ALONE. /images/graemlins/nono.gif

well, i dont buy anything, but i do enter a bss A FEW TIMES A WEEK, just to look at around! it doesnt help there is one next door to my gym! and yes, my eyes kind of glaze over, just looking at stuff i dont even need. today i saw the ENTIRE Kemi line in one place- i was just in awe. Im not even interested, but ive never seen that before, not even in the early 90's when it was so popular. i swear, the trance is riducluous. its the same affect as when i go online to look at my bank statement and end up at LHCF for an hour.

My eight year old daughter just shook me out of that trance 2 hours ago. She isn't old enough to experience the trance but she is familiar with the look I get when I'm about to go into a pj trance. She came home and told my husband that she remembered to go to the bathroom BEFORE mommy went into the hair store (ths is what she calls the BSS).
