what causes them, i noticed today as i was in the beauty palor, that alot of women have shorter hair around the sides and back or it was much thinner in the front or around thier nape....i ahve thinner hair around my hair line that i am kinda depressed about that, it feels as if it wont get thicker in this area....but anyways , does anyone else have weak spots they are working on? and if so, what r you doing to make it stronger?

i think what causes them is the extra manipulation and friction that the hairline, sides, and back undergo. we tend to brush these to make them lie down more, pull them tight into ponytails, and use drying gels to make them lay down.
also, relaxers eat out these areas from relaxers being applied too often and/or improperly with the relaxer being put on the hairline first. big no no.

to make this hair thicker or grow back, i think someone on this board had success with ors hair fertilizer.
i would suggest applying stimulating essential oils like rosemary and peppermint with a carrier like jojoba, sleeping on silk pillowcases and a silk scarf for at night and as well during the day to guard your hair from wooly sweaters and coats.

wait a second......r u saying that realxer should not be applied to the hair line????????
if so than i am shocked....i did not know this, what is the propr way then???

I think she just meant that relaxers shouldn't be applied to the hairline area first. Save that area for last.
