Girl, it was AMAZING and a great price. They discontinued it, reformulated it, and put it back on the shelves. I was SO excited when I saw that they were reselling it. Bought 5 bottles, tried it and it was complete garbage. I was halfway through moisturizing and sealing my hair, stopped, grabbed all 5 bottles and the receipt and took that crap back to the store.
 
This thread makes me sad. I love a great cheap and effective product, but I've seen so many products that I love be reformulated, then having to either stockpile or find something new. And it's getting harder and harder to find cheap and effective products. They changed my beloved S-Curl, African Pride Braid spray which used to be so damn good, and CON Argan Oil which was one of the best moisturizing shampoos out there and it was only 5 dollars, you can't find top knotch products for that price.

I think part of the reason for the formula changes is that these companies are jumping on the anti-cone, anti-paraben movement, commercializing their products and ruining products that have been great for years and built a fan base

Nexxus Emergencee changed the formula like 3 times. It just doesn't work the same now.

Chi silk infusion changed their formula also removing the dye. Other than that it seems to work the same.

^ Pretty sure OGX discontinued the product, it was one of my fav serums. I have backups but this one was the cheapest and had protein. The packaging sucked though so I always decanted it. As for CoN, I don't use it anymore but I don't understand whyyyyyy they had to change the ingredients, the new formula isn't bad but not as great as the old.

I'm hoarding what I have left for special occasions. My hair thrives with CDLS! I may have to break down and buy some hydrolyzed silk and whip into something else to try to recreate it (not sure if this would work). I keep buying other stuff trying to replace it and nothing compares :cry:

Nexxus: It looks like they've reformulated Emergencee again. I have not looked at the new ingredients yet, but if it doesn't have hydrolyzed elastin anymore, I'll absolutely lose it.

Keracare: Super Reconstructor used to be a dupe for Emergencee. @ronie informed me that it no longer has hydrolyzed elastin in it. :nono:

I highly recommend that you have items you love in each category from at least 2-3 lines. This will help you avoid a CATASTROPHE when something is reformulated and/or discontinued, :yep:

Why did they have to mess with perfection?!!! There are too many to list actually for me. What I really hate is vendors just disappearing, when the products they made was fabulous ! Like Spiral Solutions. It was an amazing line and she just decided to stop producing products. I don't thing smaller businesses realize how important they are to us. There are many products from small operations that are superior to ones found in mass retailers.

YEAh!!! Ellin Lavar Conditioning Balm was AWESOME <3 Jeez! What happened? Sometimes, I just want to say to vendors, "If you're gonna make my hair feel happy for a few months, then disappear, don't even bother comin' on the scene!" It's just upsetting...

I was able to purchase the rest of Purabody Naturals, now known as Amazon Rain's Mango & Tea Scalp Butter.

It's a winter HG for me to help with the itchies.

I think she is 'undecided' whether she will be bringing it back.

I'm just glad she had a couple 'left over' jars she was willing to sell me. I only had x1 left in my Stash that I've been holding on to for dear life.

This is/was the perfect light-weight blend with just the right amount of Tea-Tree Oil to combat dry and itchy scalp.

Unfortunately, I only have use for it in the Winter.

I should convo her and talk to her amount making it a "Seasonal" item. (I think I will).:look:

:nono: It is tragic what they've done to this product. Before they messed with it this was the best conditioner on the market, IMHO.

I asked Amazon Rain to possibly bring back Chocolate Hair Smoothie and Mango & Tea Scalp Butter as Seasonal Items.:look:

I just went on the Amazon Rain site. Not a good look. And it is so limited and sterile.:ohwell:

I'm so mad I didn't know about this change ahead of time so I could've bought up as many bottles of old formula I could find. I went on a search for any old bottles still being sold on Amazon and Ebay but was not successful. :(
