Good Afternoon Ladies, I am looking for a product to use on my hair to protect it from the chemicals during the relaxer process to prevent overlapping. What do you use, and where do you buy it. Thanks!

I don't use a specific product, just a conditioner and oil on my previously relaxed hair. Oh and oil to base my scalp.

I use Cantu Shea Butter Hair Dressing Pomade. It is really thick and does a good job of protectiong my hair and scalp during a relaxer.

Just any oil that I have lying around the house that I want to use up...

I use Pro styl pre-creme around my edges and my ends. I also put alot on conditioner on my ends. Just in case the relaxer cream gets on it, it wont overpress.

I use a cheap conditioner like suave or vo5 to protect my hair.

oil and any kind of hairgrease...sometimes i also use this cantu stuff that i have in a jar, i can't think of the name right now, it has a smooth consistency and it glides right on which i like.

Thank you ladies for all of your advice. I have some olive oil sitting around that I need to use up, and according to you all, this will suffice. Do you just coat your strands or completely saturate your hair?
