So I bought a phony pony last weekend and need some tips on products to use to slick my hair into a ponytail/bun before I place the pony on. I want to use something that wont dry hair or be flaky. I have some ic gel already but the lady at the bss suggested a black & sassy product (4got name) to use b/c it doesn't flake.. Also do I have to wet hair for the gel to "take" or can I use it on dry hair? My hair will barely fit into the ponytail as is b/c my hair is only below ear length right now so I need all the slicking back power I can muster out of whatever product I use for slicking(so that I don't have to use hair pins to catch all the shorter hair, ya feel me)!

Eco style brown gel. It's cheap and lightweight but it hold well. I'm natural and it slicks my hair down.
