Belson Gold-N-Hot Ionic Soft Bonnet Dryer

it does look silly BUT by looking at this, i can tell that the heat (air) is concentrated directly on ur hair thus enabling it to dry faster
smile.gif
At least, that's what it looks like to me. I remember when i had the portable hardhat dryer, I would put a towel over it and it would be just like that AND my hair would be dry at least 15 mins sooner.

I thought the same thing when the lady showed it to me in the store I was like WTF is this???? I am not going to use that. So I just HAD to ask you guys if anyone has heard of this.

I found a little write up about it. But I guess IONs do something to your hair that is why I am guessing this dryer is supposed to be different. I'm not sure. If anyone knows PLEASE let me know. Looks like IONs must add some type of extra conditioning.

Lightweight, portable soft bonnet dryer delivers millions of ions to help dry hair faster and provide shine to hair. Supple bonnet adjusts to head as warm air fills and is distributed evenly for quick drying.

Continuous ionic output helps condition and add shine while drying
Ideal temperature switch for high, off, low, cool
8 foot cord for flexibility
Large bonnet accommodates large rollers
Powerful 600 watt motor, most powerful in the market
Ideal for travel or as an additional bonnet dryer in salons

but it does sound like a good buy...

Why do you think its such a good buy.

I was just telling Anky today that I sit under the hooded dryer butt naked

My husband used to laugh so hard but now he is used to it. I'm sorry I just can't stand the heat under that thing. So I've been staying with my mom now and one day I was under the dryer naked with the door closed and she come bustin in the room and was like "WTH are you doing" LOL....I said you should have knocked.

I could just imagine how crazy I would look naked under this space like helmet. If anyone saw they would probably commit me there on the spot to the loony bin.

i think it's a good buy (depending on the price) b/c it looks like it will dry ur hair faster and judging by the description you posted, it sounds great. It looks silly, but hey, looks can be deceiving.

. I am dying to hear a review of this thing. I also don't see how you put rollers in your hair with that. It seems like the hood contraption would be laying right on the rollers.

I had the one made by Ion and I took it back. The hood part can't be secured or positioned on your head. It just sits there until it inflates. It has a tendency to fall forward too far or too far back. It's really loud on the ears and hot plastic on your skin really doesn't feel good. Also the motor hangs in front but it if it overheats it shuts itself off and you have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool off and reset. It really didn't dry any faster than a regular hood or bonnet dryer. The only pro that I can think of was that it took up less space. Good idea, bad execution.

Ok I can't believe y'all don't know this thing. Now I don't know what that blue tub or box is, but ever since I was 14 and my mom roller set my hair, I always used a soft bonnet dryer. I still have it AND it's dual voltage:)

WOW!! Finally someone that has tried this. How is it with rollers? Can you fit rollers under it? Does it really look this crazy? That plastic is touching your face when its hot?

We all know what a soft bonnet dryer is. But this thing looks crazy. A regular soft bonnet dryer does NOT look like this.

Imagine the hood on one of your jackets. That's how it goes onto your head. You stick your head through the back opening and it basically encloses your whole head, from the shoulders up, ears included. I didn't use it for a roller set, but there's really not anymore room on the inside than a regular bonnet. All that extra space that you see in the top is where the hot air is circulating between the two layers of plastic-like fabric. But since it is plastic, it would probably stretch to accomodate rollers.

I was wearing a towel when I used it, so the bottom kept burning my shoulders. I ended up wrapping another towel around my shoulders. I was so hot, I was sweating my hair out as it was drying. It was also really hot around the edges of my face. A roller set might keep it from getting so close to your face. But otherwise, there is way too much adjusting and holding it in place.

Hey I have something similar

Stop making fun. The plastic is very durable. I use it for my conditioners under a plastic cap. I prefer to airdry so I can't tell you how good it is for that.
