when i switch shampoos/conditioners

my hair responds by breaking! i see 1 inch hairs all over my shoulder/shirt. well, i guess my pjism is cured too...lol.

i just wonder how i'll get rid of some of the products i have? exchange board perhaps?

does anyone else notice breakage when you switch products? does your hair only like certain products? mine responds well to nexxus, design essential, keracare, and elasta qp.

I switch products everytime I wash and my hair doesn't break. I think it's because I basically like to use products geared towards the same thing. For example, the thing for me is moisture....so I'll use moisturizing shampoos, etc. HTH

yeah, i use products for moisture as well. i don't know what the culprit is. i just know that when i try to rotate poos/cons my hair breaks. if i rotate the ones i mention above then i have no breakage...go figure?!

it's major, denali. i have a section of breakage in the back that looks just like i had a trim...at least it breaks evenly (LOL)

when i get breakage i just do a heavy-duty protein tx. it looks like i may have the get rid of alot of poos/cons and just stick with certain product lines.

Do the products that give you breakage contain any harsh ingredients?

well, let's see.

most, if not all my poos contain sles, sls, and some may have amonium-something. even the poos/cons that my hair responds/and thrives well to has these ingredients.

the products that have glycerin gives my hair a very nice boost.

at the risk of sounding snotty...i'm starting to think that my hair does'nt like the cheaper(w/the exception of elasta qp & creme of nature) poos/cons (in the long run that is)

for instance:
silk elements
aussie
neutrogena triple moisture
suave
pantene
herbal essences
all of these make my hair look and feel nice but by the next shampoo/condition i notice breakage.

/images/graemlins/blush.gif Ekkk, no more pj for you!! I only get a small amount of breakage when I try new stuff. Me and dominican conditioners do not mix well /images/graemlins/nono.gif I love Nexxus products too /images/graemlins/grin.gif Emergencee always stops my breakage maybe that will help
