My hair could be classified as 4a/b and I am relaxed. The middle of my hair has been about 1.5 inches for over a year now. I wore braids for about 6 months last year but it only worsened it. I am two months post relaxer currently and I have an inch of thick newgrowth in other parts of my hair but in this middle area is this thinest part of all my hair. It tends to break very easily and does not grow as fast as the other areas. Even the newgrowth is thin. i can barely put my hair in a ponytail becuase I barely have any hair in that section.

My regimen:
I co-wash everyday with V05 strawberries and creme
I wash once a week with CON and DC with Aphogee 2 Min or Nexxus Humectress
I airdry
Daily: I moisturize with SCURL and seal with EVOO, I baggy at night with SCURL and Castor Oil
I take Centrum Multi Vits and I wear my hair in a little bun daily. (Not a donut bun, just my anorexic ponytail folded over) cant really explain it

I am clueless about what to do with my hair. BTW, my hair is full neck length:nono:

You may need to try the Essential oil mix to stimulate this area. I've been having great results with it so far. Go the recipe board, I think it is one of the stickies.

Good luck

thanks.
I get relaxers every 3 months but I am trying to go about 5 months this time around.
I use heat maybe twice a month.....

A lady that did my hair in the past swore by nioxin. She used it on everyone. She says it nurishes the follicles. She told me a story about a client who came to her with bald edges. Her edges was always falling out. So she started using nioxin on her as she did with everyone. They would grow and fall out, even for a while after starting the nioxin. She stayed persistent with it though and eventually her edges grew and stayed.

What she told her clients to do at home was wash with the nioxin shampoo, then use a moisturizing shampoo for the second lather. Then condition with the nioxin, then use a moisturizing conditioner. I didn't stick with it cuz I felt like it was too much work but it might be something for you to consider.
