I'm actually going to be trying bamboo extract, though. It's even higher in silica than horsetail. I've ordered Solaray's bamboo extract. I'll report back after it arrives and I've had a chance to take it for a while

ToyToy07 said:From the standpoint of a pharmacy student, I just want to educate everyone about Horsetail Tea before they jump on the “bandwagon.†Horsetail tea shouldn’t be consumed by individuals under the age of 18 years old. The herbal product contains a small amount of nicotine as for this reason the product shouldn’t be taken orally for more than 7 days. Instead of taking the product orally, you may consider using the tea as a hair rinse. If anyone is considering taking Horsetail tea orally, please be cautious if you have low potassium levels, taking anti-diuretic (water pills like Lisinopril), anti-hypertensive agents (especially Digoxin), poor kidney function, pregnant, or breast feeding. Ultimately, it’s your individual decision to decide whether you want to take this product long-term but be very cautious about the nicotine and the possible side effects.
**Herbal products and dietary supplements are not monitored by the FDA, so please be very cautious if your taking Birth Control pills, heart medications, anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medications. Please research ALL herbals before you start taking any non-FDA approved product because short term results may ultimately harm you in the long run.
And thanks for the heads up. I've been worrying about this also. I already ordered the horsetail, but I will definitely be monitoring any physiological changes.
