Hey ladies its time to pay attention to out hair woes since the cold weather has come to change how we take care of our hair. I noticed that my hair is shedding way more then I used to and dry dry dry! I think I need to get quality solid moisturizing products for balance and protein treatments when needed. What are you ladies having trouble when it come to your hair right now and whta are you doing to help your strands ( ie products, regimine, frequency)

I am getting more shedding as well. I just am going to keep up a moisturizing treatments but I am adding in protein treatments every other week. I am going to try to manipulate it less as well and just clip up with some cute clips. As far a products go, jane carter nourish and shine protects my ends like no other. I will keep using my beloved ors packets with a small squrit of added oil. I am currently looking for another moisturizing conditioner to add in the rotation so if it keeps my hair moisturized through this terrible weather, then I know I will have a keeper.

My winter problem is dryness... I am combating this with 2x a day moisturizing and weekly hot oil treatments. So far this is working for my hair. I would also like to invest in a humidifier...

My hair is dry all year long  , so I am going to braid it up for a while. I will oil my scalp daily with MTG and castor oil (I pray this will help cut down on the smell :)!!

My biggest problem is that my scalp is dry like chips.. I moisturizing daily but it is still dry.. I just added olive oil to my mix, so I hope that helps my scalp..

Thanks ladies for the repsonses so far. I went to Sallys today and loaded up...it was much needed. My issue is keeping my hair from being dry when I working out at least 4-5 days a week and CO washes right after my workouts.

Gymfreak...what do you do for your hair?

I was trying to do a search for winter hair care earlier and couldn't find anything. Glad I found this thread. I need to stop wearing my hair down so much, but I'm enjoying it b/c of the pregnancy. I just added some oil to my hair and I will go back to rollersetting it too! I think my problem is not enough moisture.

Guess I kinda fell off the wagon.:naughty: :whip:

My hair is dry yeat round. So, I just do the same moisturizing routine year round.

Coconut oil has sealed the deal.. My scalp is dry no longer.. My regime is first I oil my scalp with coconut oil and then apply my hair oils and it works great. my hair was moist for a full day, this is a truimph for me.

I am concerned about the winter air and wind during the day. I work between 2 buildings that I walk to sometimes during the day. I found c coat that had a hood and the lining is a satin like material. I was thinking of buying it.

Also, I am concerned about my hair snagging on my sweaters. I have had it happen already. :perplexed

I am not big on protective styles. My hair is at such an awkward length that it looks better down. Also I have a section of breakage that is exactly where I twist it in the back to clip it up. I don't know if it is the twisting or my sleep bonnet or the protective styles.

You know, I was all geared up for changing my regime for the winter but I've noticed that my hair hasn't changed or shown a sign that it needed a change. I'm still doing daily CO washes and my hair is thriving!

My hair suffers from the winter blues aswell. I used to braid it up during the winter, when I used to relax my hair. Now that I'm natural I'm just gonna do more deep conditioning, definitely twice a month instead of once. My scalp tends to get more dry too===>MOISTURIZING DAILY

I have a lot of shedding and dry scalp. I control the dry scalp with WGO pretty well. I'm going to get ultra sheen duo tex for the shedding.

My hair is extremely dry. Right now I have it in twist and my ends feel like twigs. I plan on drinking more water, use the baggie method, and to spritz my hair twice a day.

I would love to have braids this winter. I am playing in it too much. I just wish they weren't so heavy. I may try a different synthetic brand other than kankelon-- A lot of people on this board with my hair type didn't have a problem with the other ones.

I have been thinking about this, as well. I don't like the heavy feeling either. I cannot believe that I used to wear them ALL THE TIME and never felt that way. Now if I get a set, I feel weighed down. :ohwell:
