WOW! I love her Length! (This inspiration was SO needed)

HAha!
Has she been on LHCFand has she taken a look at the heads of ridiculously gorgeous hair here?
Based on the fact that she seems to think that she has "arrived" in the healthy and unusually beautiful hair catagory herself I'm thinking um..no.

I think she's doing a great job and it's wonderful that she's thankful for her length and at the same time she is quite modest. You can see where GENETICALLY she probably has thin hair, but she's making the best of it. Doing a lot better w/hair care than most at her age. She's young, seemingly very nice, give her some oblige.

Thanks for sharing the link Reecie.

Her hair is pretty and the length is nice too! @ some of the comments... What may be inspiration for one may not be for others...

It is inspiring to see her long hair, but I am hoping for better! I was unsure how I felt when she said that her long hair was due to "genetics". I think the reason her hair is so long is simply because she knows how to retain length. Now that I have discovered what I was doing wrong, I know I will have my BSL hair. Genetics or not...

But isn't she contradicting herself with that statement? If she were 'blessed' with long hair and it's 'genetics,' then she is implying that only women who are 'blessed' grow long hair. But she then asserts that black women can grow long hair, regardless of genetics. Which is it?!?!?!

Glad I am not the only who was :ohwell:. I don't know. It just doesn't excite me. I think I am a thickness over length girl. I know people can't help how thick their hair is, but thickness is what makes me

Before my LHCF days: Yeah her hair is so long and beautiful.

After discovering LHCF: It's alright.:look:

Sorry, I have been spoiled by so many beautiful heads of hair here on this board.

That's right, but I can't listen to her at work.

I don't think her hair is perfect by any means. She is not even on my list of Top 5 hair idols. However, I liked the length of her hair. That's about it. I have seen plenty of LHCF ladies with longer, thicker, healthier heads of hair. I just wanted to post this video to give some other ladies some quick motivation. Take it or leave it. Anyone that is feeling the need for a pick-me-up (like myself), have at it.

It's alright, though. I feel the same way. In time, she will see that she's not an exception.

nice length.. some of you ladies are right. If she comes around here she would get her feelings hurt.

I'm not trying to sound negative, but that's true. :yep: I've even seen heads of hair that look way better than mine--that's why I stay "humble."

Both. Some ppl are blessed genetically, meaning that they dont have to use growth potions, moisturize & seal religiously, stretch relaxers, avoid hair color an heat, or use protective styles to grow their hair.

Others, like myself, have to follow a regimen in order to maximize my growth.

I think her hair is lovely. It is shiny and healthy looking. She is not my hair idol. There are plenty of lovely haired women on this site to choose from. I don't have to look else where.

You have to remember that most people are told that it is genetics. I even had a black male tell me that it is genetics that's why black women have short, medium or long. There are tons of articles and I used to read these articles and believe them prior to LHCF.:drunk:

It's a very nice length and color, but I hope mine is thicker if/when I relax or get a BKT. It's cute how she didn't want to "brag" about it.

It is a nice length, but I agree with you that I would love for my hair to be thicker than this at that length.

She does have a nice length, and that fact the she is trying to help somebody...anybody is all right with me. I think we forget that most of the healthy heads of hair here (regardless of length) are not as common as it should be in our communties. And ALL the myths...boy...that is a whole 'nother thread and prolly another fiftyleven yrs!

If we keep at it one by one it will continue to get better...grow on my sistahs!!

Oh and I would LOVE to have thicker hair...but I don't. She may or may not be able to help it. I do know that oil isn't helping it appear thicker.

Anyways, didn't mean to get on a soapbox. Just wanted to say I can see both sides of this argument!

I completely agree.

I agree too. It's weird that we come on these threads for support only to find that we're still being judged. I'm a thin-haired APL sista and it's sad to know that if i wore my hair straight, some women would be like "so what if her hair is long, it's so thin and blah". :ohwell:

my extra 2 cents...... she appears to be in high school, so don't be so hard on her. I would also argue that it is her MOTHER who is mostly responsible for retaining such long and healthy tresses.

And that a lot of them once thought like the girl on YT before they found LHCF anyway. :look:

Tell me her length is not gorgeous!!! :love3:I would want my hair a little thicker, but I think it's because she used a bit too much oil. Maybe I'm wrong.

Regardless, I Love it!! I needed some new motivation/inspiration. I am getting antsy!

Thanks. Her hair is very pretty, especially for her age. It's hard to resist trends and heat when you're young and she looks like she is in high school. It's great that her mom helps her, too.

I don't get why things turn negative when it comes to youtube... it looks like the young lady is doing a great job to me :yep:. It's kinda funny how on LHCF we talk about overcoming myths, but the myth that all black women have or should have thick hair seems to prevail.

If this chick was using all the potions, conditioners and Low mani techniques we are using here, she would be WL in no time

Not everyone has thick hair, she was talking about some of the techniques that she thinks help grow out her hair. I know so many people with a similar regimen to her that have chin length hair. She is proud of her hair, why shouldn't she be?

Thanks OP for posting, its nice to see some people with simple regimens that are getting the length

I have to agree with her, it is genetics that her hair is the length it is. Many people with regimens as simple as hers, with a scarf on every night do not achieve the length that she has. However, she is willing to share with people what she does to her hair, so that other people can try it out and see if it works for them. I really don't think that she was trying to have a deep thoughtful discussion on why she has long hair

Wow! You couldn't have said it better. Thank-you

She's probably comparing herself to the real world though, that's why she feels it's long. Before I came here, I hardly saw any black women with such long hair. I would have looked at her hair in awe too.

ITA...before joining this board, I would have thought she was blessed with good genetics too. I do think her hair is lovely, but I've definitely been spoiled to the various possibilities for our hair because of LHCF. Thank God for LHCF. :yep:

I think that's a good point. My sister is a person who doesn't do anything - barely washes, uses heat and never protects it - and her hair grows like a weed. On the other hand, I've had to adopt a lot of these special techniques to get results. This young lady definitely has length.

I think your view is fair and balanced. Plus she is in high school. If my hair was like that in high school, I probably would have been stuck up thinking I had it going on. Maybe that's why I didn't have it then. :ohwell:

Well I think her hair is lovely and we have to remember not everyone in the world is on the LHCF train... her being proud of her hair is no different than the billions of threads we have here of ladies boasting of their progress. I personally don't know a lot of Black women with hair past NL so I think anyone with hair beyond that is long.

Let's applaud all beautiful, healthy hair- whether the person is a member here, elsewhere or nowhere! :yep:

I can't speak for everyone, but for me the reason I wasn't swooning over her hair was because of the attitude. One of my personal pet peeves is arrogance. And in MY opinion she comes off as stuck up. I've seen all kinds of different lengths (longer and shorter than hers) and different textures, thickness...etc, on this board and IRL that look just as good as hers. I'm not knocking her, cuz lawd knows I can only dream of hair that length right now, but she could've come off a little better than that in her video, then she would've gotten more props. And honestly I think the only way people would say your hair "ain't all that" is if you came in here with a "beeotches, my hair is better than yours" attitude. Again, this is JMHO

Girl, puhlease. We are all judged everyday. And it is the truth - her hair looks very blah/regular to me and the front looks horrible. I wouldn't go out my way to tell her that unless she asked me tho. . .

But who cares what some women would say about your hair as long as YOU think it's fly? Now if some fine guy said it, that's diff :spinning:
