Hi,

as a few of you know i have some self inflicted hair trauma going on, and my hair needs moisture moisture moisture. Money is a bit tight, so Im going to spend the little i have on a clarifying poo, can Coconut milk be a dc if i use it with steam? I have ors hair mayo but protein is not my friend at the moment....

I tried it last week as a DC with heat but unfortunately I wasn't impressed. :ohwell: I mxed in coconut oil, honey, and AO Honeysuckle Rose. It was too runny for my taste. But the good news is I only wasted $1 on the can :look:.

Is there a separate LHCF "Hair Recipe" Forum?

Is there a direct link to it? I'm still trying to navigate my way around this overall forum.

Yes, you can, but make sure you only use the cream settled at the top of the can. I usually mix with a bit of conditioner, oil and some honey. It can be a bit runny, but it's well worth it! For me, it's strengthening and moisturising at the same time. :)

Yes. In fact I plan on doing coconut milk treatments bi-weekly. I like to alternate using Aubrey Organics conditioners as DC's and using natural things, like ayurvedic powders, as DC's. I plan on mixing all my ayurvedic powders with coconut milk whenever I do a treatment, and once every month or so I'm going to do an avocado, coconut milk, and yogurt deep treatment. I'm not going to use heat with it, though. I'm just going to let it sit on my hair for an hour or more.

I mix coconut milk with AO HSR for extra softness. In fact, I have some in my hair right now.

I have only use coconut milk for loosening the curl...so for deep conditioning on the cheap there are plenty of things....a mayonaise(sp?) condition, or you can use any cheap mositurising conditioner and mix it with some honey with or without a bit of your coconut milk, mix it and sit in the dryer for a few mins....

Clarifying Shampoo can be very stripping and very drying. Use it when you want to remove product build-up.

Always Follow-Up with a Good Deep Conditioner. As far as Coconut Milk, it can be a bit runny, so it is good to mix it with other stuff if you plan to DC with it (unless you're using it as a "rinse"). I've also used the Coconut Creme which is a little thicker and more concentrated and it costs about the same.:yep:
