I'm going to Miami on Tuesday for spring break and I let my friend put a weave in my hair. She does alot of people's hair on campus and it always looks good. She finished up late so I had her braid it in braids and i put my bonnet on since it was wet and wavy hair.. I take it down this morning and it looks horrible! The color doesn't match and it just looks bad. She already left so I can't get her to fix it... What shoud I do??

Oh my!!! You can not go to spring break like that. I would take it out and rock my real hair(braid outs and wash-n-gos) or I would try to get an emergency appointment tomorrow with a stylist. Sorry about your weave disaster so close to your trip!

Why dont you wet your natural hair then twist ( as if your were doing a twist out) and going all the way down to the weave ( include the weave hair into the twist...seal with a shine spray, or natural oil, allow it to dry, then unravel and finger comb to blend it....This should look a lot better....HTH

OR....try flat ironing your natural hair, then do the twist out and see if that blends in a little better....

Seriously - I do not think it looks that bad. The color is a bit off but it is normal for roots to be a bit darker than the length. What I see is that the texture is more off. If I were you i would press out your real hair - the part that is showing and then braid it for the crinkles that you get with wet n wavy. It should blend fine after that.

You may have problems if you plan to go swimming on your break - with having to keep the front pressed out but its really not that bad. You can always rock a messy curly pony tail or bun. Have fun in Miami.:grin:

I was thinking about trying that but the color is soooo offf

I agree. If the colors matched you could blend it. The colors being so off is the only reason why I didn't think it could be saved. Maybe if you put a rinse in. maybe that will help the colors blend better.

I think these ladies have given some great suggestions. As I weave wearer, I understand. I think you should try them, and if all else fails, remove the weave.

Yep, try the rinse...then try the twist out with the natural hair, by either method...When i wore wet and wavy weave with my natural hair out, I did a twist out on the top and it blended well....The braid out at the top may cause the natural hair to look too crinkly....

**And let us know if any of these suggestions work out for you, and show us the pics!!!!...I feel confident that it will work out!!!

i agree with this post. Just do something to the part that is your hair. The color is off....but you can still work with it if u add more texture to your own hair.

just be careful when u get in that water tho:look:

oh it's not that bad...before you do anything press out/flat iron your real hair...then brush it (boars brush) to blend it with the weave...I think you will be ok with that cause not that much of your hair is out...if that doesnt work then go ahead and twist it....if all else fails through some headbands on it and call it a day...I think unless u really know what u are doing puttin a rinse in it could be a disaster

I would wet the entire head then apply paul sebastian "wet" gel on my hair and weave. Scrunch it up side down, then put a cute scarf or headband to cover my roots.

I would NOT waste my time trying to rinse my OWN hair and trying not to get the weave... that's just too hard to me. I would take that weave out, braid my hair up and slap a nice wig on that maama jamma... Show your pics to the chick who did your hair when y'all get back and have her do it over again. Just MY opinion... I know you don't wanna go to spring break looking like a HAM... That is the fastest cover up of all.

:yep::yep::yep: YES! I would take that weave down, ASAP. If you want to relax and have fun on Spring Break, having to fuss with your hair is not the way to do it.

You can cornrow your real hair and pick out a cute wig at the BSS for like $20. If you pin it on really well you can swim with it. When you get back to your hotel room you can take it off and cowash your real hair and wash the wig too... let them both dry and put the wig back on in the morning.

i totally agree...A bad weave can't be fixed...take it out and rock your own hair or a half wig...I've worn half wigs on vacations before and they were last minute life savers and i've received so many compliments on them...

Gel the top down, tie down your hair so flattens down and blends in nicely. Take some scarfs/head bands with you in case of any accidents and you will be just fine.

Yeah a wig is a good idea. I didn't even think of that.

she said if i got different color hair she would put it in... the thing about it is my hair color doesnt match anything at the store.. its like a burgendy color.. i already paid her on friday :perplexed

sounds like a free weave when y'all get back to me! that gives you time to look online for some hair, or at least discover the color you should be looking for. sorry this happened to you, boo!
