I'm so freaking excited! I've decided to take out my sew-in today!! I was planning to take it out in 3 weeks, but I think it's about that time. I'm crossing my fingers because I think I've gained 2". I've had this sew-in for 3 mos now (May 29 to now). This means that I'll definitely get to BSL or a little pass it by December. It's 3" from APL to BSL for me. When I chopped back in April, I went back to APL. I think I can definitely be a healthy, all natural WL sometime next year! :yep:

I'm exciting about my next sew-in too. I've decided to go with Halleys Curls Creole Curly. It's another kinky curly install. I'll probably get that done at the end of September.

(could be a lot of braid slippage, but I'm just going to go with positive thoughts and hopefully it did grow 2")

(yes my hair was dirty, had to wash out the gel)

Yes. It is a jungle under there. I'll have to definitely be very patient while taking it out.

Um..yea..I did measure it :look:

wow!!!! U better grow that hair!!! I have a sew in now.. u are truly my inspiration for growing my hair with weaves!!! I am so excited! I can't wait to see more pics!!!

Wow that's awesome... I want to put on sew-in now so bad... but i'm too scared it will do me bad instead of good.

Same here! I would like to self install my own, but am soooo scared of doing more harm than good.

Ediese, you are so organized and detailed with demonstrating your growth!! LOL

It looks like you got the two inches!!!!

Whoa! That's a whole lot of growth! What products were you applying to your scalp while the sew-in was on? Some people get a growth spurt in the summer, hopefully that's you. Mine is the same 1/2 inch.

That is alot of growth for 3 months!!!! (I love how u really captured the growth, lol) How do you keep the hair so well maintained?

That's GREAT growth. Your edges look so lush and thick. What braiding pattern do you ore your stylist use/recommend?

That's great... I was wondering if that was a true way to tell. I don't know why I didn't think so. But, That's good. I can't wait to take out my weave today:)

I'm back again.. I cant believe this growth.. Jeez... What did you do while in your weave please share your weave regi!!

Thanks! Yea I hope I got a growth spurt because during Sept - Dec my growth slows down. I've been using the Almond Glaze by Hairveda to 'grease' my scalp. I love that product!

Way to go mama!!! That sure looks like growth to me. Slippage of tracks may happen (some) but those are your cornrows with that much NG under them. Can't wait to see the after photo's.

Thanks! For my second kinky curly install, it's been much easier. This hair doesn't need as much moisture as the last one. I cowashed a lot the first couple weeks, but then realized that I couldn't keep that up if I intended to wear it for 3+ months. I started washing every other week. When the curls started looking frizzy, I put my hair back in a bun.

Yeah. I was thinking it too because it's naturally going to start slipping, and not be as tight as when it was first braided. Hopefully, it's truly growth that I'm seeing. lol How long did you wear your weave? I'm trying to figure out if I want to let my sister do it, or take it out myself.

I'm back again.. I cant beleive this growth.. Jeez... What did you do while in your weave please share your weave regi!!

Thanks!! You can check out my reggie in my fotki if you click in my siggy below. I changed it up a little, and started cowashing and washing less. I washed probably every other week. I also started 'greasing' my scalp with Almond Glaze from Hairveda. I usually moisturize the hair that's left out with Cantu Shea Butter leave in, and I haven't really been sealing my ends like I should.

Thanks! I have no idea what pattern she used here, but I'll take a pic of it when I take out the weave. Do you self install? I want to start practicing more.

I put mine in myself the second week in July so it's been 7 weeks. I was looking at your fotki and weave bible everyday for like a week just to get everything back in my knowledge because I wore weaves straight for like 8 years, but never while trying to take care of my hair underneath. I even bought my hair from allaboutmyhair.com after you said you bought hair from there. They were the cheapest. And I would follow one of your rules that says take out your own weave. I think it even said "I won't let my own sister do it" LoL... But only because I like to do it in my room by myself. I have done it many different ways and that works best for me.
