hey guys. ive been natural for 2 years now. i love my nappy, big hair but im frustrated with the fact that my schedule revolves around my hair when ever i want to change my style or even remove shed hair. right now, i dont change up my style often- its more of a problem with grooming
has anyone been successful with "loosing" their hair? i really dont care about texture- i still want my hair to be BIG and nappy/ kinky but i want to be able to remove my shed hair easier and faster (ie. groom it better and more efficiently). i would also like to be able to switch my styles without having to wet and braid my hair to stretch it OVER NIGHT or wet it, blow dry it to stretch, and then style it... i dont wear twists or braids 24/7 and frankly i dont want to. i dont like them and neither does my hair. i know i would be able to switch my styles more and faster without much frustration if i keep my hair stretched 24/7 but becoming a frequent protective style wearer is out of the question
again, i dont care about the texture (however i dont want to look jacked up!! lol). i dont even care about showing length (im almost at arm pit though). i just want BIG NAPPY LOOKING HAIR that i can groom easily!! lol. my shed hair is the problem. currently, i groom my hair with a boar bristled brush either with detangling cream, condish, or while wet with condish in it to remove the hair without ripping through my hair. i made that change nearly 6 months ago and my hair has thanked me gratiously by retaining length... so im not going to change my grooming method because it works for me. i do this at least 3 times a week but it takes SSOO much time to part my hair and get in there
hence why im looking into getting a texturizer and doing it myself. any suggestions? ive read a few threads about using texturizers with protein conditioners so that the hair doesnt get too straight. have any ex-naturals have success with that?
PM me if yould like. i would REALLY like to hear from you guys and get seasoned advice before i make a rash decision and get it done at the drop of a hat
thanks!
