Hated it!!!!

My hates:
1. Pink Oil Moisturizer(regular and light). Too drying and contains beeswax.
2. Any hair and scalp conditioner that contains petroleum. Greasy!!!!
barf.gif

3. Suave daily clairifying shampoo. Too harsh and drying.
4. Copa natural hair relaxer. Remember that other natural relaxer from Brazil? Well, in a few words: It made my hair hard as heck. The conditioners that came with the kit, not at all the best to moisturize my hair after the treatment.

That's all I can think of or remember right now. Oh, one more item that I hate: Pantene shampoo for dry/damaged hair. After using it, I combed my hair, and came out in wads. Never use it again.

Stuff I love:
Clairol Renewal 5x shampoo, conditioner(color treated/permed hair), Moisture Therapy, VO5 Strawberries and Cream conditioner, Pantene conditoner for Curls, Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil, soon to use Suave Smooth conditioner(cheaper than Pantene Smooth and Sleek), Natural Instincts Semi-permanent Color, Motions Light Oil Moisturizer, Care Free Curl Gold Moisturizer, ACV rinse, the list goes on and on.........

Honey Vibe,

I use the JAY product occasionally, but I have not noticed a build-up from it. I wonder if it is the combination of products that causes it?? Or maybe you just can't use it too often.

Oh, and another thing . . . I think (my opinion) that it is very important to use an ACV rinse after using ANY type of soap-based shampoo in order to avoid residue. I use it directly after the shampoo - before the conditioner. Perhaps this is why I don't notice a build-up.

I wanted to add to my list...Queen Helene Hot Oil Treatment....YUCK

Smells BAD and did nothing for me.

Hated:
1. Suave Clarifying Shampoo
2. LeKair Cholestorol
3. ORS Hair Mayo
4. Razac Perfect for Perms Setting and Wrap Lotion---they changed their products ingredients and it no longer worked for me.
5. Pink Oil-tried it soooh many times hoping that it would work for me like it did for a few of my friends but it didn't work for me
frown.gif

I haven't tried their protein treatment as yet, but I really like Aphogee's other products and I really like Motions products too.

Elucence conditioner. Made my hair hard and grey looking no matter what I did. I tried it as a leave in and it was even worst. Just didn't change my hairs health at all.

*Anything from African Pride - why do all of their products smell like watermelon?

[/ QUOTE ]

I heard many years ago when the product came out that African Pride was owned by white people and they thought the watermelon scent would entice Black people to purchase their products, cuz "ya'll know we sho' do luvz us some wattamelenz". I vaguely recall reading an article which stated African Pride was trying to sue Bronner Bros. and any other hair product company for using the word 'African' in their product names. We were supposed to be boycotting that company. I might be the only one still boycotting, because I DO NOT like watermelon and the scent offends me

!

I haven't seen any of their products on the shelves (or maybe I haven't noticed). But nevertheless, that's something that always bothered me, and I vowed never to use their products, so I'm still boycotting with ya

any gel
any grease
any oil sheen
pink oil--> lanolin= itchy rash
all Elasta QP
botanicals hair oil ( in the green bottle)
all Blk and sassy (gummy residue)
Let's jam
straightening balms

Loves:
Dove shampoo and conditioners
Baby shampoo with honey
coconut oil
citri shine polish

Here are a few I hate:

**Redken's All Soft Heavy Cream: thought it was so overrated and did nothing for my hair, utter waste.

**Redken's All Soft Shampoo: this stuff really has avocado oil in it? It must be a drop because it is not moisturizing AT ALL.

I think I need to leave Redken alone 'cause my hair hates most things I've tried by them.

**Kiehl's Silk Groom: (Sorry Allandra) This stuff is utter SLUDGE and left my hair really gooey. Glad I used samples only! I really did give it a try, too

**Kiehl's Coconut/Lecithin Hair Mask: Another SLUDGE product. Just too, too heavy and greasy! Plus the smell was disgusting!

**Aveda's Curessence

**Aveda's Cherry Almond Bark Conditioner: hard, hard hair...and a rather FUNKY odor....sort of like burnt cherries...always wondered whether they REALLY used cherry almond bark.

**Aubrey Organics Sea Buckthorne Leave-In/Curl Activator mess: I love Aubrey, but he needs to start over with a real leave-in. I really tried to give this a chance, but quickly gave up....way too greasy and messy!

hated:
Pantene Shampoos
Wildgrowth
Olive Oil
Aphogee keratin and green tea restructor
Tresemme Products

Is just ok:
Elasta QP Recovery
Paul Mitchell Hair Sculpting Lotion
Coconut oil

I can't stand Proclaim's Wrapping Foam!! Oh it had my hair in such a mess. Left my hair so tangled. I can't find my receipt to take that mess back to Sally's either! Oh, and I can't stand Lekair's Cholesterol. It just sits on my hair it seems.
ohwell.gif
I loved Lottabody's Cream Straightner for wrapping and sets. BUT, as always, Sally's does not carry it anymore. I bought Lottabody's Cream Wrap in the jar. It's ok, leaves a film on my hair that I do not enjoy though. I need to find a good cream wrapping and setting lotion. Oh, and I hate the version by Black N Sassy too.

I absolutly hated Jazzing semi-permanent hair color in Red Hot . It was Red Hot alright, Red Hot on my pillow, on my towel, on my carpet...you get the idea.

I've never been so disappointed! and I even went under the dryer like you guys told me to to prevent that from happening. I just hope this stuff washes out of my belongings! I'll stick to REJEVATONE

Girl, you know there's no need to apologize. I know what works for one doesn't work for everyone.

HATED:
ORS Hair Mayonaise - didn't really do anything for my hair and left a weird film on my hair and a weird taste when I rinsed and came in contact with my lips. It kinda detangled and kinda moisturised but for $9.99 it shoulda done a lot more.

Nexuss Humectress - again did not moisturize or detangle when used as a rinse out. OK as a leave in.

Aveda Shampure - strong scent and extremely drying.

Humecto Cream Conditioner - I wanted this to work sooo bad but again didnt do much moisturising and left a bit of coating. And for the price of $15 for 8 oz. I expected a whole lot more.

Dr. Bronners as a shampoo awful and drying but good as a body or hand wash.

LOVE:

Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil Cholesteral - AWESOME!!! My hair is so moisturised and detangled and just feels like silk when I am done using this.

Suave Moisturising Conditioner - for the price you cant beat this as an regular rinse out conditioner. I love it b/c I need a lot of product and with this I am not afraid to slater it on. My hair always comes out smooth and detangled.

Pantene Smooth and Sleek Conditioner - my all time favorite. I love it as a rinse out and as a leave in for when I wear my hair natural wash and go.

Suave Clarifying - cheap and gets all the gunk out.

Ouidad Water Works - great to alternate with you regular shampoo. My hair never feels dry and stripped after using this but it still gets it clean.

Breakthru Shampoo - great, moisturising shampoo. I try not to use it too much b/c of the protein in it. But great to use when my hair doesn't need to be clarified.

Fantasia IC Gel - my new favorite gel right now. Nice hold and wonderful shine.

hot six oil, it stinks and has more ingredients than necessary for its purposes. it is expensive as well but is not worth it. plain old olive oil is cheaper and excellent for hot oil treatments AND i have been using it for my skin as well, its a great alternative.

Shikakai powder freeze-dried my hair. I wanted to like it so much but I can't work enough miracles to make it work on my hair. I feel like letting it blow in the wind.

Anything Nexxus (except Keraphix)
Diez y Uno
barf.gif

IC Deep Conditioner
White Rain Conditioner (hey, i was slumming
laugh.gif
)
ORS Uplifting Shampoo
ORS Temple Balm

Everything made by Black 'N Sassy. Their setting cream made my hair like cement, but I suppose it did do what it promises. Makes me not even want to bother trying BBD Glass which by the name sounds like it would do the same thing.

Dark 'n Lovely Dry Hair Healer- STINKS! Threw the whole thing out after one use and I rarely throw stuff out. I just add "rejects" to my product graveyard to try at a later time.

CON shampoos- made my hair feel slimy.

Those are the only things I can think of that I truly hated. There are a ton more that just did not work well.

Long list of Hated it

Love Aubrey GBF but hated everything else. The shampoos are the worst on your eyes. Jacked me up.
Love the Elucence line but the protein conditioner.
Any Cholesterol products- None of them do anything for me.
Pantene anything. Their nice but after awhile they make my hair hard.
Infusium 23- I don't know what is does that's so special either.
Hate Carol Daughters hair products.. nothing but greasy hair.
Aphogee
Parneu (spelling)...will eventually make hair dry.
Lustrasilk...My mom and husband love this. Yuck.
Redken anti snap..nothing but dryness.
Jason products
Pink oil moisturizer
Bio Strand Shampoo, what a matted mess.
Keracare jojoba moisturizer
Love when the hairdressers use Mizani or Aveda products but when I use them nothing special happens and my hair is once again dry.
Love the Breakthru Shampoo but hated everything else.
Nexxus is good for the hair but I don't like how it doesn't make my hair for silky. The only products I like by Nexxus is Keraphix and Humectress.

hateeeeeeeee redken active express conditioner. and paul mitchell isnt all that for it to be the supposed best salon product.and wildgrowth--i cant get over the smell, sowwy. i live in hot florida weather.

i loveeeeeee elucence(great slip) and kenra(very moisturizing and thick) and these products arent overpriced.i also love love loveeeee pantene detangling spray.

Hate:

Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo (hair felt like straw, though I have used the conditioner as a bomb leave-in for 4 years now)

Any version of any carrot oil creme

Any version of any hair mayonaise

Any version of any Cholesterol

Redken All Soft Mask (actually returned this to the salon)

Any Pantene product - leaves hair too soft with an eventually waxy buildup (note: have extremely hard water)

Any product with mineral oil or petrolatum

Aubrey GPB (Smells like old ladies to me!)

Motions CPR (has mineral oil)

Keihls Coconut hair masque--feels really rich putting it on, like cake frosting, but after it's rinsed hair is left both greasy and frizzy.

Any kind of silicone serum - when I air dry, it interferes with the clumping of my curls. When I applied it after rollersetting straight, it left hair too weighed down and attracts dirt.

Redken Butter Treat
Aubrey GPB
Biolage Ultra Hydrating
Deep Brilliance Moisturizing
Elucence Shampoo and Conditioner

Britt, why did you hate the Redken All Soft Butter Treat? I had great hopes for this...sorry if I asked you this already...
