okay this is a post where everyone can vent about all the haircare products they've tried and hated:

Mizani Botanyfying shampoo (my friend swears by this but it just made my hair tangled)
LeKair cholesterol (Queene Helen works much better 4 me personally)
Aubrey's GPB
Aphogee ...basically everything EXCEPT the treatment
oh and this one almost gave a me a heartattack b/c i was sooo excited to try it... Fantasia DeeP Penetrating.. just didn't agree on my hair AT ALL
dont worry i have more i just haven't looked at my product graveyard yet....

hair type.. confusing a 3C sect, but mostly 4a/b relaxed

Black & Sassy Caribbean Creme--it made my hair feel hard.
Carol's Daughter Hair Milk--greasy, greasy, greasy!
Kera Care Hairdress and Oil Moisturizer--they made my hair feel greasy, dry and hard.
Nature's Gate Rainwater Rosemary Conditioner--I may as well have put some lotion in my hair. I didn't moisturize my hair at all.
Gold Medal Power Gro System--grease, grease, and more grease!

These are what just don't work for me:

Fantasia Deep Penetrating Cream. OMG did nothing for me. Gave it away

Fantasia Leave In Hair And Scalp Treatment. Made my hair dry and rough textured.

Motions CPR. I *really* wanted to like this as so many rave about it but it made my hair the most tangled set of knots I've ever experienced. I was scared combing it out! Yuck.

Black and Sassy Cream. Did nothing for me.

Lottobody Setting Lotion. Didn't like the sets with it.

Elucence shampoo and Moisture Balance Conditioner (ducking for this one!). Did nothing extra for me that other products already do. I wouldn't rave about it.

Carols Daughter products. Just make my hair greasy.

Excellent post Beana.

Hated
Any product by Infusium 23
Elasta QP Remoisturizer and Oil Recovery
Apple Pectin Moisturizing Conditioner
Condition Washes w/Suave Coconut Conditioner

Loving
Mizani Moisturfuse
Motions CPR
Arosci Shampoo and Leave In Conditioner
Professional Rx Leave in Treatment

New Purchase, but haven't used
Elucence Shampoo and Conditioner
Bio Restorative Moisturizing Conditioner (Bath & Body Works)
Bio Leave-in Fortifier (Bath & Body Works)

Oh good heavens! Not just port-o-potty, but HOT port-o-potty!! I'll be sure to steer clear of that one...

oh and about my latest horror.. Kenra Intensive Emoliient... this really left much to be desired.
I was in in a hurry to have an "excuse" to buy from the Elucence line, but if this is anything like the elucence , I'm glad i saved my money

Things i'm loving ....
WGO oil
Hollywood beauty carrot creme (when hair is wet)
my new satin sleep scarf
APHOGEE treatment!! love it love it love it

Things im not too crazy about anymore, but still give okay results...
Hask Placenta leave in
creme of nature shamp (best thing i've found so far so i guess i'll stick with it)
Queen Helene Placenta creme.. good value, does nothing specatcular for my hair, but it has helped a lot with moisture and comb outs

Motions CPR & Carols Daughter (Khoret Amen Hair Oil) a true waste of money /images/graemlins/blush.gif. Happy Hair Growing! /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hated
Aphogee Pro-Vitamin Leave in (tangled my hair)
Aphogee Intensive 2 min Reconstructor (don't really see a difference after using this)
Motions CPR (can't stand those specks of crap that it leaves in my hair)
Motions Relaxer (my hair starts reverting 2 weeks after applying this relaxer)

Love
ORS Hair Mayonnaise (hair feels stronger and moisturized after using this)
Elucence Moisture Balance Conditioner (great for detangling and for use as a leave-in conditioner)
SoftSheen BreakThru Shampoo (leaves my hair feeling soft after rinsing it out, and it doesn't tangle my hair)
Motions Moisture Enhancing Hair Dressing (apply to my ends, great for everyday use, very little build-up, water is main ingredient and doesn't contain mineral oil or petroleum)

Still use, but gives okay results:
Aubrey Organics GPB Conditioner (usually have to follow up with moisturizing conditioner)
Infusium 23 Leave-in (if I use this I also apply a little of the elucence mbc)

Ok. I did not love Carol's Daughter. It took forever and 2 months to arrive, and they charged shipping like it was FED-EX, and, it really does nothing for 4 a-b nappy hair. You have to be 3a and above to have any type of effect.

Perm-repair. Never repaired anything for me. But it's creamy/watery so it makes my hair revert.

Hmmm... That just goes to show how the same products will have different effect on different people. Just like in the Fantasia Leave-In thread...
I love CD products and recommend them to anyone who will listen to me! /images/graemlins/grin.gif I'll have to be more careful... or add some kind of disclaimer to my speeches. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
My only complaint is that they are too heavy to use every day. I would think someone with type 3 hair would end up looking like a Full Force wannabee. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
So far only the Hair Milk has let me down. Waaaaay too greasy for me. But I would cut somebody over a jar of Healthy Hair Butter or a bottle of Hair Balm. They moisturize my hair perfectly. If I use too much I can end up with a greasy mess, though.
And I usually receive my stuff within a few days...
I'm with you on the Perm-Repair. I was going to try it. I read the ingredients and it has some kind of placenta in it. Uh uhh, child...

I'm with you guys on hating the Perm Repair too.

It's so surprising how some people can absolutely love a product and others will completely hate the same thing.

Profective products-Hated it!
Aphogee shampoos-didn't give me much to rave about.
Fantasia cream oil moisturizer- too greasy.
Motions cpr- didn't hate it, but the little specks are a pain.
Infusium 23 leave in treatment-don't hate it, just don't know what to make of it. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

All Sauve products.

I hated Carol's Daughter Hair Milk(I love the Healthy Hair Butter and Mimosa Hair Honey though).

Lottabody setting lotion(love the cream wrap)

Loreal Mega Therapy did nothing for my hair.

Aveda Sapp Moss conditioner did nothing(love the shampoo).

I hate ANY gel!

WGO made my hair oily.

I hate shea butter alone(especially on dry hair)...but mixed with oils it's fabulous(especially on wet and damp hair).

I don't like Nexxus.

I am hating Kiehl's Silk Creme groom. I don't like the dryness and scent of it. It left my dry ends only a greasy dry. It was a sticky greasy dry. Waist of money for me for such a small product. I would mix it but the scent still bothers me.

Hada

hate lustrasilk straight effect( did NOTHING to straighten my natural hair! i resorted to using a relaxer)
doo gro stimulating growth oil (mineral oil is top of the list and it contains NO stimulants! what a con /images/graemlins/mad.gif)
doo gro medicated hair vitalizers (way too greasy, loaded with petrolatum)

LOVE profective megagrowth (loved by my ends!) and EVOO (excellent light oil also loved by my very ends) and WGO (very rich and makes damp hair shiny and moisturized from the inside) and arosci pre-relaxer scalp protector (my stylist used this when i first relaxed my hair and mama! it was so therapeutic, the SCENT is heavenly and my very sensitive scalp remained cool throughout) /images/graemlins/cool.gif

pebbles, what went wrong with u on the profective products. i am curious as to how they did not work for you

Ditto on the Power Gro Formula and the Audrey GPB. I also hate Dudley's shampoo and conditioner.

No not Doo Gro.

Gold Medal Power Gro System--grease, grease, and more grease!

don't arosci have some of the best smelling stuff lol...maybe that's why I love it hahaha.

Great Post Beana,

Here are my worst experiences;

Mizani Botanyfying shampoo (made my hair tangle too)
Moisture Maniac Shampoo AND Conditioner (matted my hair)
Infusium 23 leave in - (LOUD scent and didn't do anything)
Fantasia leave-in treatment (same as Infusium 23)
Hi Pro Pac Protein conditioner (Ugh!)
Black and Sassy wrap creme (made my hair feel like it had a film on it)
Sebastian Potion 9... (I don't know what it's suppose to do except cost you an arm and a leg)
Sebastian Laminates Gloss Drops (It would take a whole can to get shine on 1 quarter of my hair) I took it back.

Other
Elucence Shampoo and Conditioner (I'm like brownrelaxedhair. I don't hate it but it's like air... doesn't hurt but doesn't help anything more either)

Hate to be a hater, but i cannot stand:

Aphogee Reconstructor -- Horrible smell and did nothing for my hair

Redken CAT Treatment: Did nothing but vacuum $7 out of my wallet

Redken Anti-Snap Treatment: Smelled like I was putting a cotton candy solution on my hair - and it didn't do anything

(going waaay back) Pink Lotion stuff for hair: Awful goo. A healthy scalp's worst enemy.

Affirm Relaxer: Works well for 99% of the black female population . I'm the 1% it sucks for. So harsh it's unfunny. Makes my hair look like I used drain cleaner as a relaxer (Revlon as well...)

Aveda Shampure and Conditioner: Really Drying.

Feria Haircolor: Cannot hate this product enough -- used Black - it stained my hair for maybe 3 weeks to a month then faded to a strange purple, dried my hair worse in the process. At the time, I had Affirm in my hair so I was double-F*$&#d

Nexxus Humectress: gives same effect as Aveda

Burt's Avocado Treatment: Why don't I just put Elmer's Glue in my hair? I'd get the same results

Dr. Bronner's soap as a shampoo: Wonderful body cleanser. Not so good as a shampoo -- causes lots of tangles

But I have been nicely surprised by:
Finesse conditioner (no cones or mineral oil -- leaves my hair really soft/ nice scent) - would never use as a deep conditioner, but works as a good rinse and CO cleaning

Good topic beana3 /images/graemlins/wink.gif
Doo grow products-They did nothing for my hair. Way to pricey!!
Fantasia Activator- Makes my hair feel really dry. As well as my kids hair too.
Motions CPR- I just tried that this past weekend. My hair was so hard.
There's more. Just got to look through my PJ closet. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I really hated that Black and Sassy Carribean Cream. I had to throw it out, and I don't throw out much stuff. I try to mix it with something to salvage it or use it for another purpose because I'm cheap like that.

Here's just a few that I can think of off the top of my head:

Black and Sassy Wrap Creme---made my hair feel funny
Pink Oil Light Hair Oil---moisturized my hair but smelled awful
Pink Oil Glosser---has the same stinky smell as the hair oil
Pink Oil Conditioner---i'm not sure, but i think it was good for my hair, but i just couldn't tolerate that medicine smell
Motions CPR--can't remember if i liked it or not, but i know that i didn't like those beads it left in my hair
Dark-n-Lovely Peppermint Shampoo----it made my hair soooooo tangled and left it feeling really dry. and it didn't even stimulate my scalp.
TCB Naturals Hot Oil----waaaaaay too greasy and left my hair in a tangled mess
Profectiv Healty Ends---too heavy for my hair and it makes it feel hard
At One Botanical Reconstructor---it did nothing for my hair. I've only used this once so i'll have to give it a second chance
Isoplus Hot Curling Spray----left the hair too hard
Motions Wrapping Foam---caused breakage and i didn't like the way my hair felt

More to come....

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Profectiv products! My favorites are the Anti-Itch serum and the Break-Free. It leaves my hair moisturized especially if I apply it while my hair is wet. It makes combing so easy. When I wear my hair in the natural curly look, I can't comb it. So, I wet it and apply Break-Free. I can also apply it to my scalp and NEVER expect an itchy mess. I don't even need to use grease since I use Break-Free and the Anti-Itch Serum. My friends and I Love their stuff! Grade A+

Anyways, I also love Infusium 23 Leave-In conditioner. It helps me detangle my hair after I wash it! Grade A

Olive Oil Sheen: Ten times better than Isoplus. Great light, fresh scent. Doesn't leave hair greasy. But the mist is strong. It set off the smoke detector in my dorm room. Grade A

Creme of Nature: Great moisture! Not too helpful for getting rid of build-up and dandruff. Grade B+

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
MY CAN'T STAND THESE LIST: /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Wild Growth Oil: AWFUL! STINKS SO BAD! Made my scalp dry and itchy. Waste of freakin' dollars! Grade F

Fantasia Hair Gel w/ Aloe Vera: Made my hair toooo hard and dry looking. Grade D

Suave products: They suck. Don't EVER buy their bodywash. Grade D

LA Looks Gel: Flaked up terrible after a few days. Grade D+

Isoplus Oil Sheen: I've found something better smelling and less oily than this stuff. Grade C
