Your hair looks fantastic! Man, I am so tempted to buy that thing now!

The revlon brush I have is 1200 watts. That's a lot for a hot air brush--many are like 300w. That's one of the main reasons I chose that one. To use, I just detangled a thin section of hair, no wider than the length of the brush (which is actually a good size, though), and placed the brush at the roots. I rotated the brush slowly at the roots before moving more quickly down the rest of the hair to make sure the roots got completely dry. I alternated doing this on top of the section and underneath the section until it was done.

I have to blowdry my natural hair when it's completely wet if I expect it to get straight. My hair dries really fast so I had to keep a squirt bottle on hand to help out. I've tried letting it airdry a bit first but it doesn't work because I need the hair to be very pliable in order for it to uncoil as I'm pulling the brush through. Otherwise it just creates those tight, flattened coils--I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about  They're a pain and they tend to lead to broken strands because they're hard to get out.

Phytodefrisant--I got this tube from a Chicago LHCF meeting and this was my first time using it. I found that it gave good slip, but it's hard for me to say much else about it because I also used that Frizz Ease product for the first time too. It doesn't have much of a smell and is sort of a gel-like serum-y consistency.
Even with my frizz-fighting products, my hair was still turning into a puffball very quickly. But the initial blowdrying part seemed to be smoother.

Thank you for your compliments! :)

Good Heavens...
Your hair grows so darn quick!!!!

U did a really great job straightening ur hair :)

I bought a hot air brush last year (when I bought my Maxiglide). I chose to use the Maxiglide. When I do my next press, I think I'll give the hot air brush a try (if I can find it, lol)

((( shoot, I'm hoping for results like yours!!!! )))

Your hair looks great! Now I wanna run out and get one but I must fight the urge.

Your hair looks super good girlie! It's so thick :). I might have to try that hot air brush...

Very pretty!!

I've been eying that hot air brush too. I couldn't quite figure out if it was meant to be used for styling purposes or actually drying the hair.

Please tell me if you had to use a flat iron to get your hair strait after using this iron? What flat iron do you have? Your hais looks like it was relaxed.

My hair actually does straighten out from the blowdryer but it doesn't last. I have to flatiron it in order for it to stay sleek-looking for any real length of time.. In the album I have the picture of the dryer and the Conair iron (cheap $14 one bought at Target). You can see in the first few pics of my hair how it looked after blowdrying. Then you see the pics from the next day after I flatironed.

I had to use my flatiron to touch it up almost a week ago after my hair got rained on, but otherwise it's holding up well :yep: The Ice Pomade is doing a good job  I'm trying to last through the holidays.

Your hair is jetblack and gorgeous blackcardinal! Maybe if I would stop letting any and everyone trim my hair I would be somewhere near your progress right now. :( But I defintely looking up to you now- you straightened and trimmed your own hair-WOW. kUDOS!

i have been following your hair album since my transition and it is such an inspiration! your hair is beautiful!

Hey, BC:

Your mom was on my mind the other day. Tell her I said hi please. Your hair looks wonderful. It is so beautiful and healthy. Now I am torn between buying the brush or maxiglide. It seems that you use the brush to just blowdry your hair but have to follow up with a flat iron. I want to straighten my hair today for the holidays. I don't know what to buy.

I had something similar to this back in the day... a Revlon one but it wasn't an Ion one. Nevertheless I remember it worked well... before it broke :ohwell:

wow, your hair is gorgeous. I am so impressed by how fast it has grown. Congrats.

Thanks ladies!

Cybra says hello back! :) I keep telling her about folks asking about her...

I've always blowdried before flatironing--I can't flatiron natural hair that hasn't already been straightened out, and my hair hair won't stay straight from blowdrying alone. I found it easier to do a good job blowdrying using the brush than with my other dryers.

Folks definitely miss your mom. She was really sweet. Forgive my ignorance, I thought the maxiglide blows and irons at the same time. I assumed the steam got it dry and straight. Your hair looks great.

Your hair is beautiful! What a wonderful album. Keep it up!! I can see how your album has easily inspired many to go natural.
