I am so very sorry that this happened to you. I am glad that you decided to take matters into your own hands from now on. I am sure with time you will find a solution to this disaster. Have you ever tried relaxing in sections?

Thanks DSD. I think this is the method I will try. Actually I should have combed my hair and braided it before I went. But it's okay. I'll be able to section it and move appropriately. Unlike the 'pro' I will also rinse in sections to even out the time a bit more. Why she had to rinse the back immediately is beyond me

That's good. So are you going to straighten you hair completely so the textures will match?

I don't like my hair too straight so I use mild relaxer and leave it on no long than 15mins per . Sometimes I do 3 sections.

I'm speechless

. I'm sure you'll figure something out to get your hair back in tip top shape. Sometimes things look worse right after they happen. In a month or two, you'll see that you can make this better.

Look on the bright side---it could've been worse---she could've cut your hair too.

@DSD: I'm not going to straighten completely. I want the textured sections to match. I think the front section that will curl is about 75-80% relaxed
ohwell.gif
... so I think I'm going to have to go w/that. She used regular strength, but I think I'm going to go back to mild (pH is much lower). I don't what I'll do about new growth in the front. I hate relax again so soon. Maybe I can wait 6 weeks.

@Brownie: I know
nono.gif
. I'll PM you. I didn't even wanna tell you this

. If that heifer had've come near me w/scissors I probably would have slapped them out of her hand.

I totally agree!!! I am sure that your textures will even themselves out and you'll be back on track a lot sooner than you think!!

Hair salon mishaps seem to be more common on the board these days!!
crazy.gif
My stylist goofed up on me when I got my t/u a couple of weeks ago, by using a Lye relaxer instead of my usual Affirm No Lye Mild...
mad.gif
I was upset at first, but it may have been a blessing in disguise, because so far I really like the way the lye relaxed new growth looks & feels.
smile.gif
I'm still mad though, cuz what if things had gone the other way and my hair had all broken off??!!!

Stylists simply CANNOT be trusted!!!
nono.gif
You really have to watch them like a hawk and not be afraid to speak up.

And yeah, like an idiot, I tipped my stylist, too!!
wallbash.gif
I shouldn't have given her a damn thing... in fact, I shouldn't have paid for the t/u at all, considering she used the wrong relaxer!! She should have gotten this
fishslap.gif
instead!!

sengschick: so so sorry to hear about this and (((HUGS))) that you will find a "style" that suits you until things even out. This is the kind of stuff that really makes me crazy -- I mean, WHY won't they listen? Also, makes me want to start bringing my own relaxer to the salon from now on . . . .

Thanks ladies. I just returned from a serious search for Emergencee. I also bought the Deep Brilliance Reconstruct, so I'll try this too. I'm doing the Nexxus tonight and maybe it'll curl a little. I'll let you know in the AM.

@Lindy: I'm sorry this happened, but happy it worked out well

. This must mean our hair is looking too good, they have to find some way to mess it up since we won't come regularly! I don't know why I feel so powerless in that danggit chair. The Mister said I shouldn't have paid at all and he's right
ohwell.gif
, b/c it's not like I just didn't like the style, no harm, no foul. She totally altered my hair.

@Neroli: That's a good idea b/c how do you use the totally wrong product?! WTF? This at the malpractice level
nono.gif
. We need hair insurance for real

You ladies are priceless! I took several pics this morning (none before, so you'll all think I was exaggerating
laugh.gif
, but I wasn't). My differing textures are still painfully obvious, but at least I got this one side to crinkle a bit. Now I'm sure to which level quadrant I should correct
ohwell.gif
. Anyhoo, as soon as I finish this roll, after the meeting this weekend, I'll develop and post.

Thanks sssooooooo much!!!

i'm so sorry to hear this. i think the key to getting a texturizer done is to live and work by a timer. the timer is key otherwise you end up with straight hair.

Thanks MsP
kiss.gif
. Well, this is what I'll do AT HOME
ohwell.gif
. You know there was no timer in sight
naughty.gif
. I can't mess up any more than the 'pro' did
nono.gif
, so I'll do it myself and keep the tips

Thanks Sassy
