Natural Ladies That Don't Wash and Go

I either twist, braid, or cornrow. Very seldom do I use heat.

ETA: If I'm pressed for time I pull it up in a puff.

I can't do wash 'n goes. Although, I'm still in the TWA stage, my hair would shrink so badly when it dried, that I would NEVER be able to get it detangled without MAJOR breakage. I'm 4Z, c-napp.

So after DCing, I apply my leave-ins, styling product and twist it to keep it stretched.

I re-twist everynight on dry hair with no comb or brush. If my hair feels parched, I'll apply a spritz or a leave-in/butter. I, also, part my hair with my fingers to apply a serum or light oil and give myself a massage.

I don't do WnGs either. When I wash I usually twist, do some kind of 'rows' (flatwists or cornrows) or bun. On rare occasions I blowdry.

I flat twist 95% of the time and allow my hair to airdry (then wear a twist out cuz I should not go out in public with my flat twists and make shift parts LOL)!
I recently fell in love with EcoStyler gel so I have tried wet bunning and wash n go(s) a few times. The only heat I use is during my DC.

I usually blow dry and then twist it for a twist out. I rarely wash and go because I hate having to redo it every day.

It depends on what I feel like doing, but I always airdry.

When I've had it loose (as in not in many braids/twists that are my everyday style) I've combed it out while damp and worn it in a puff and let it airdry (of course with S Curl on it). That gives me full shrinkage and I get what a call a compact bun-cake puff. :giggle:

Or I've let it dry in the braids I wore to wash, and then combed out a more stretched out afro. With S Curl, I still get shrinkage even when dry. With coconut oil/conditioner, there's less shrinkage.

Or if I'm wearing braids and twists, I usually airdry either after put them up in a style or just leaving them hanging down.

That sounds like me...instead of seldom, I never use heat.

Oh, and I love my C&G (crown and glory) braids on my natural hair too.

I air dry in braids about 75%, spray on moisturizer , seal and go on my merry way until it dries and I can style it

Your hair looks really pretty, Glamazon! :yep:

I'm not fully natural, but when my hair is not braided, it is in a twist out. I hope this next go round after the braids are out to do some wet (or dry)bunning with a phony pony to give my hair a break until the holidays.

i never really wash and go, unless i'm really pressed for time.
i do different styles after i wash:
-braid n curl
-twist n curl
-blowout
-flatiron, etc.

I used to do a twist or braidout. Now I'm just going to use heat and do a braidout. I don't really like straight hair on me anymore but I use heat so I don't have to deal with ssk's

I typically wear two strand twist, occasionally buns and occasionally box braids with my own hair. But, I'm intending to switch it up a little coming soon.

Can't do a wash n go since I have heat damage in the front also major shrinkage every where else except the nape which is much looser so it would leave with a weird looking mullet. Depending on my mood I will either blowdry or braid and let my hair airdry. My hair use to hate airdrying b/c it would be so dry and hard but now since I'm using better products my hair is soft after airdrying.

Wash and go are a :nono: tangles and knots city, after washing and conditioning I air dry in big twists and style my hair with protective styles i.e. braids, canerows or twists.

After I wash and condition or wash and add coconut oil I detangle with water and a wide tooth put into about 8-12 twists and air dry my hair dries fast so it's no biggie. The next day I'll style

Isn't a puff considered a wash-n-go? It's basically a ponytail or does wash-n-go exclusively mean out and about.

I just do about 16-20 twists...I add an oil to seal and then eco styler to each twist section and let it airdry for a few hours. The next day I do a twistout and it lasts around 3-4 days depending on the weather/humidity/dew point. But yea...that's pretty much it for the summer style.

i only blow dry if it pertains to the style i want. i usually do that if i want bantu knots but other than that i only blow dry when i straighten which is about twice a year. i do twists and braids, updo with twists and braids, cornrows, flat twists...etc... but i rareley do twist outs, wash n go's and braid outs for longer than a day because of tangles and accumulated shed hair. i do buns every once in a while too and i airdry all these styles, i never airdry my hair just 'out'....OH HECK NO! id never be able to detangle that...lol...

When i was fully natural i would blow dry and then put it in twists.

Now i'm 1 year post i'm still blowdrying and mainly styling in two large cornrows. Occasionally i will flatiron.
Airdrying is a no no for me.
