So I'm going to Ghana for a month in January and Im veryyyy excited
The only thing is that I know Im not going to be able to keep up my regimen because we wont have weekly access to water and I wont have my hairdryer with me. Now Im due for a touchup, it's been about 8 weeks and I have significant new growth. I think I should just get braids or a sew-in so i dont have to worry about dealing with my hair. Although I havent decided on which style I want. However, my mom and stylist think I should get a relaxer first when i come home, then go get my protein treatment and wait a week or two and then get braided, so that when I come back I wont loose a lot of hair during the relaxer process. Now this makes me scratch my head, and i think its just my stylist not making sense again, the same way she thinks that the only people who can deep condition my hair properly is another stylist. Although thats a different topic.
But just so I'm not crazy (because my mom does have me thinking I'm crazy right now) I think I should just let my hair be nappy thru the holiday season, (despite my mom wincing at the idea of my hair being like that) and get braids or a sew-in before I go to Ghana and just rock it out for a few months after i get back and call it a day....although I am worried about blending my front hair with my sew-in if i decide to get that...
Also, did I mention that I wouldnt have access to hot working water all the time? I think braids would be more practical but I dont really like them on me and Ive only had a sew in twice and I wasn't really sure how to take care of it, because I always went to a salon, although back then I never really knew how to take care of my own hair either.
sorry for the crazy long post, I tend to ramble
