New growth with braids

How soon after braiding your hair are you expected to see new growth?

The reason is that put braids in my hair about a week ago and they were nice and firmly in place, no tight braids. And as of today, 6 days later i can literally pull my braids away from my scalp, no lie. I have not gone overboard with any products to loosen them up or been playing in them. My hair just seems to thrive while in braids.

Has anyone else had fast growth rate while in braids and if so, how much?

Yes i have had very fast growth in braids, but i think it may be due to the fact that it is hard to see how much new growth you are growing when you wear your hair down. With braids it's very obvious. I have about a inch + of new growth and i have had my braids in a month. But i believe this is also due to my vitamin and diet.
