Camille rose Batana collection looks so good. Especially that Batana balm but it doesn’t fit into my routine so no buying it.

The Shark Silkipro looks good, when I was reading some reviews, it was likened to the WavyTalk Air Sculpt which is the one I have. Based on the price, the fact that I will only use this for trims and the accessories that come with the WavyTalk, I think I've got the tool I need.

If I was to get another air styler/dryer, it would probably be the GHD one, but it's unlikely as I don't need it. I realised that the GHD glide is a smoothing brush not a straightening brush, which explains why it didn't do what I wanted.

I'll be looking forward to your review

I bought this today from Ulta. Double Ulta points, 20% off, free birthday month gift, Ulta reward discount, + Rakuten. I knew I was getting it; I just wanted the most for my money. I paid around 140 for it + got free gifts and I have an additional birhday month coupon for one more thing ...That how I do lol (stack/bundle the discounts). I will try it out later this month.

I'm getting all excited like its mine and I'll be the one trying it out. That's a great saving, a good time to make the leap, I can't wait to hear how it turns out.

I ended up getting the Tymo Ionic Plus, the Tymo Flipro, and the WavyTalk Air Sculpt. It funny because on one hand, I'm looking forward to seeing how the products work for my hair, but at the same time, I'm not feeling a need to rush to do it. It's been a long time since I used any heat tools like these.

I can see how this might be helpful for people who for whatever the reason, aren't able to braid their own hair.

My fist thought..... No thank you.

i have the dyson air wrap which is nice for styling but i feel the air flow isn’t strong and it’s really best for styling vs blow drying from a wet state. anyone have the supersonic one can provide a comparison? my 30$ knock off supersonic seems to dry my hair from wet faster

I was trying to be so good, I didn't plan on buying any hair products for a while. All of a sudden, that Melanin Multipurpose Leave in Conditioner is back in stock after many months of waiting. I also have a voucher that will take £10 off the price I feel like it would be rude of me not to. :look:

I did my big chop this morning! I didn't end up going super short like I had originally planned but most of the heat damage is gone!

I got my first curly cut today. I love how lightweight it feels now.

my stylist said there is still some heat damage but she recommended I get it trimmed every 12 weeks and the rest will be gone. She also defined my hair with a diffuser and yall I never even knew I had curls. I was shocked.

she told me I needed a moisture regimen and to wash my hair twice a week and make sure I deep condition. No heat at all but I do steam my hair with the dc.

my products are gonna work so much better now! I don't feel weighed down anymore. My heat damage was making me feel sad just looking at it.

excited for this new journey as I grow my curls back out! She'll shape it for me when it grows out, too!

I’ve had the supersonic for a while now and one of my favorite things about it is the speed. A blowout with the comb attachment or brush/nozzle can be done in like 10 minutes, and I can be diffused in about 15 minutes. I highly recommend it.

I co-sign this. The Dyson supersonic is probably my fastest dryer. I tried to go back to an old andis dryer and it took so long to dry my hair

ok so i did buy the dyson supersonic. now ive got an air wrap , supersonic and rev air. will review how i think all 3 can be used / which scenarios they are best for after i give the supersonic a few tries

Amika
• I have never used any Amika products before
• I have around 5 of their products
• I feel like I'm going to love them, and
• I low key think their moisture range and anti frizz/humidity products could become staples

The Doux
• I have loved everything I've tried, but I do prefer the CSC to the Mousse Def
• I've been eyeing up their Press Play system
• I have been thinking for sometime now that this brand has the potential to meet all my hair styling requirements
• I'd have to wait until my PJ days are behind me and I gave tried all the products I want to test out

initial thoughts
dyson supersonic
technique: take small sections ~ 15 detangle with unbrush then stretch section with unbrush while holding blow dryer in downward direction moving up and down about 6 inches away from hair. end each section with cool air maintaining downward direction of blow dryer.
- hair is very shiny any soft/ not overly dry. i’m not sure if the cool shot after each section did it or the gloss conditioner and leave-in i just bought. will switch to a different one next time to see.
- it took way too long to blow dry on cool/ lowest setting (140F) however, it doesn’t seem like damage can accumulate ( still use 3 heat protectants in layers)
- came out pretty straight considering the minimal heat
-very light weight compared to knockoff

rev air
technique: detangl with unbrush and hold ends until the dryer can pull them down. hold for 45-80 sec per section ~9. Hold 90 seconds if using lowest heat setting.
- much quicker to dry
- less mechanical manipulation
- less arm workout
- ends get dryer faster than roots so seems to have some over drying issues in less i remove my hair midway and spritz my ends
- hair wasn’t as straight as i like using the lower heat setting, suction feels weaker on lower heat too. ends were fuzzy ( but were fine on high)

dyson air wrap
- technique varies based on attachment by with 70% stretched dry hair, add a little leave in and attach hair using low heat, finish with cool setting , turn off machine then release curl
- should really only used as styler on mostly dry hair. some attachments could cause mechanical damage on very wet hair which curly hair needs to achieve correct style.
- takes me a long time to use but the barrel attachment is quick.

tldr: dyson styles better using lowest heat (140F) setting; rev air is best for speed but needs high setting (180F I think) to deliver similar results.

going to keep testing but lmk if anyone has questions. imo all 3 can be useful depending on what you need

Thank you for the detailed review. I wanted the RevAir so bad, it's not available here unfortunately. I'm not sure which Dyson model I tried but I wasn't impressed with it, I think there's another model that is supposed to work better at straighter blowouts for afro hair.

I agree that different tools work differently too, this is my justification for having multiple of the same types of styling tools. I will say that for my latest hair tools haul, I tried to get items that covered everything I wanted to be able to do. I doubt I will purchase any hair tools for a while, I seldom use heat tools, but if anything new pops up with the promises of safe heat usage, I'd be open to checking it out.

If it’s a liquid or melted down to a liquid I can use it to seal but to moisturize it’s too heavy and makes my hair feel waxy.

Usually any Shea butter product I’ve used , I’ve used as a sealer type product on dry hair. Any other way my hair winds up dirty , waxy and grayish looking @Angel of the North

I had a guest over last night, we've been friends for a long time, I mainly visit her as it's easier for her circumstances and she lives a few doors away.

She needed to use the ladies, and we realised that she had never been upstairs in my house. I gave her a mini tour, of my bedroom and the bathroom. I have external shelves on the end of my wardrobes, one shelf has skincare on it and another has styling products. She told me I need to get rid of them all as it's too much. Er absolutely not, the majority of them are new and it will all get used.

She almost lost her mind when she opened the bathroom cabinet, she seems to think I have a problem. I tried to explain to her that haircare is my hobby and that I plans for EVERYTHING in that stash. I also realised that I rarely discuss haircare with friends and family unless someone brings a specific topic, or I notice an issue and advise on how to try and deal with it.

Lately the most common topic I have noticed many of the women in my life are facing is hair loss. Bald spots/alopecia, missing edges, loss of density, is affecting so many people. That's the main reason I've started blending oils, to try and help them.

That's the effect raw shea has on my hair, I've never tried it melted, although there is a type of shea butter I love and it's not hard, I haven't tried it on my hair (only skin) but it is similar to the consistency of avocado butter, which melts in my hair. As long as a moisturiser isn't too thick or heavy on my strands I'm okay with them containing shea butter.
