problem #1: my hair has a coated feeling when you touch it. i noticed it after i washed it (with regular shampoo.) it feels coated the way it does after i apply avocado butter to damp hair.
problem #2: it's also not allowing anything to penetrate! conditioner doesn't go on the same. it's as if condish is sitting on top of the a hair. i have to use a ton of it and it won't smooth down the shaft! and when i apply condish, it doesn't feel soft like it used to. its kinda soft when i rinse it, but not like it was before.
problem #3: my hair doesn't have the shine it used to.
does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going on with my hair??
possible culprits: when it was flat-ironed, i was moisturizing with Neutrogena Triple Moisture leave-in & sealing with an oil mix (jojoba, avocado & sweet almond oils.) could the silicone in NTM have coated the hair? when i first noticed this problem last week, i washed with clarifying shampoo hoping for my hair to feel soft again.
since then i've been using avocado butter after washing and conditioning. i apply the avocado butter on damp hair hoping to add extra moisture (but it doesn't "feel" good or smooth on damp hair.) also, during the week, if my hair feels a little dry (wearing a wash-n-go stretching them 3 days or more) i'll smooth some avocado butter onto my dry hair. feels fine, goes on nice, feels like its penetrating...
so, does anyone have any idea what could possibly be going on? or how i can fix my hair. i want conditioner to penetrate and want my hair feel soft!! not coated. please help!!!
