This should be a sticky!!!!

Kimberly said:Okay

I will post pics

nefertitiblack said:WOW! I just watched the videos and what a great job you did. Thank you so much for the work you put into this.
I have a question, how much hair should I use for this (packs, etc.?) I plan on braiding my hair except the crown.
Kimberly said:Because this was my first time and I am normally not too good with "hair suff", you know? I went with cheaper hair...$7.99 and I got the 12" which looks longer than that in the "Natural Yaki Straight", Color #2.
Now, I'm just using my little half-raggedy web cam to take pics with so....they are not the best, but I think they are good enough for you to get the idea.
Please see thumbnails. The first one is my "before" and the other two are with my WEAVE!!![]()

Also, I'd like to add, out of all my years of being on this forum, this is one of the most useful things I have learned. This is awesome.

LiLi said:Are you just plaiting your hair like I did or cornrowing. I sure wish I wasn't tenderheaded because I would have my niece cornrow my hair; but I'm happy with the plaits especially with over 2 years of new growth -- cornrowing would probably produce alot of breakage unless I flat ironed my hair first.
nefertitiblack said:I planned on cornrowing it, but I have only done big cornrows (one or two going straight back. How big were your plaits? (I think it's sweet that you are tenderheaded, my scalp is like steel, LOL!)
LiLi said:I have about 15 plaits and the crown area is out. I have a feeling that just two cornrows will make it too bulky. Try it out with four and see how it looks (with just the bobby pins in) and then change it if necessary. Let me know how it works out.
JazzyDez said:wow....this would definately be a great alternative to my staple instant weaves!I have always thought about there should be some sort of weave with combs smaller than the instant weaves that came in pieces so i can actually do my own style and have a middle or side part! I can't wait to try this out! I will be doing this when I get my touch up in a week or so....you really didnt have to go through all of the troube with the video and everything! But I know you helped a lot of us out.....Your such a sweetie!

Thanks so much for putting this information out there for the rest of us to see. Although some people have known about it for a while, I, and people like me, NEVER knew anything about clip-ons. You have introduced me to a whole new section of hairstyling. This week I am going to do my hair but use a deep french wave. I am so excited. You are greatly appreciated.![]()
LiLi said:Thank you Jazzy!! I didn't mind really; I just wanted to share my excitement and help anyone that doesn't have a clue ... like myself.
Girrrrrrrrrl ... once you do the clip-ins; you probably will hardly ever use the instant weaves. These are so much more customizable -- you aren't limited to what kind of hair you get, you can add colors ..etc,etc.. I just love them.
Now I'm on the search for hair that will last a long time and not tangle. In the meantime, I'll just use my discount store hair.![]()
Nice & Wavy said:Oh....I luv you girl....You have set a new standard with these clip-in's! I am in transistion right now and have about 3 1'2 inches of relaxed hair still on my ends (I know...I'm holding on to them for dear life) Anyways, I purchased hair (wet & wavy, tangle free...it's great) and the wig clips from the BSS. I followed your suggestions and placed them in...I just wanted a pony-tail, and it worked like a charm. It really looks beautiful. I'm so pleased. The hair looks like it's coming right out my scalp. This is certainly going to be something that I do all summer, until my hair gets to the length I want it to be and then do the big cut!
I'll have to take some pics to let you all see, but once I master it...it's going to be beautiful...i'm so excited. All I can say to you is THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!![]()
I love my LHCF sisters!!!
Blessings...
RabiaElaine said:It looks soooooooooooo natural. Good job! I think I'm going to switch to this instead of my instant weaves (when I want to wear them). Since I can choose the hair and the style. That's one of things I don't like about my quickweave, I hate the texture of the hair...it's too silky in my opinion. I can wait to get my hair out of these braids. I'm planning on doing a sew-in weave when I take them out...but I do need a short break in between and this would be great.
I have clips-ins that I bought from ExtensionsPlus I think, a while ago. I use them to make buns. I never thought of using them like this though, as weave. Now I'm going to make my own. You're the best.
Btw there are pics in my fotki of my bun with clip ins.
