Transitioning and how to dry hair

I am currently five months post relaxer, I just came out of microbraids and I have a ton of new growth. My plan is to go completely natural, I want to use as minimal heat as possible. How do you dry transitioning hair without using heat and without it getting tangled and matted?

I'm transitioning and the first few months i used to rollerset. But my newgrowth never got straight enough. So i'm 9 months post now and for most of the months i have been airdrying in 6 braids to stretch my newgrowth over night. Then i'll flat iron when dry. I can't not use heat.

I put my hair in 1-4 braids, brush back my edges and tie a scarf on overnight. In the morning, its smooth enough for a bun, pony, half wig, or braid out

Detangle your hair thoroughly
Braid hair in no less that four sections
Wash and Condition in those braided sections
Let your hair air dry braided
